Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

The baby's arrival is imminent.

.... and it's a boy for Kate and Mark!

This is making me laugh - her faces are incredible.

Hooray- baby Hobbs number 2 is here.

That really is a very little baby.

Briggsy comes face to face with his mother in law. There will be a few home truths coming out as she has no idea about the debts Debs has been running up.

I think huge debts is quite a big problem, not a little hurdle.

Perhaps Debs has made up for her earlier misdemeanours. Briggsy forgives her - lets hope it's a fresh start and she behaves better.

Haha, the stroppy woman from the Druids' sacred place only turns out to be Dr Eastwood's daughter!

Debs' mother is going to sort out their financial situation for them.

A happy ending again.

So, the feisty druid is Mrs Eastwood's daughter. Oh, I say, Jeremy is slightly enamoured of the fair Melanie. Bit of a jaunty farewell there, almost a wink!

A happy episode for a change - quite enjoyed that one.

Yes not bad all round. Redemption for Debs. I was quite surprised to see a tiny birth size baby for a change not one that looks about three months old. Reckon Jeremy might be sorted there too with Mrs E's daughter.

It's something about being on this thread eejit we all end up on the same wavelength eventually

Can I admit to having a series long crush on Jeremy - I often thought he should have been with Kate Butler

Jeremy took a while to grow on me iceroad He was a bit of twit for the first couple of series - even Dr Sadie felt sorry for him but now he's matured, it would be good to see him happy with a woman who won't produce a husband who's come back from the dead.

I did always liked Kate and Kieran as a couple.

I'm pretty much with you on that Rhu.

Of all the various officers we've seen throughout these six series, I think that Major Rory has been the one I've had a (maybe not so secret) crush on.

iceroad - where were you on the Our Girl series? Were you a Molly and Captain James fan or more of a Georgie and Elvis fan?

Have to admit that in series 1 of Soldier Soldier, I did become quite fond of Lt Pasco (whose teacher girlfriend had no intention of becoming an army wife).

BTW, Steve has vanished again, after trying to rescue Jie Farrell from himself. Is that temporary or not?

Not on the thread in person, though did read it. I’m definitely team Molly and Captain James

eejit Steve is definitely in the next episode. I've just checked. From memory, this next episode is not an easy one to watch - very uncomfortable in fact - thankfully times have moved on.
