We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Joe looks rather worried about this letter from Colette.

Steve is marched in to see the Colonel. In view of his actions last week when the truck overturned and his behaviour at Colchester, he's back to his former rank of Lance Corporal. Well done Steve!

Oh dear - a letter from Colette -

Joe's had bad news from Collette. Steve has won his stripe back, but Steve is not sympathetic.

The colonel has invited Sam to a dinner to commemorate the 80th anniversary of The Somme - so must be 1996. She doesn't look very pleased about it.

The news from Colette is clearly not good. Joe's mood is foul.

Oh no, poor Sam. Imagine having to accompany the Colonel to a stuffy old dinner.

The Colonel suspects there's a leak within the regiment. The story has made the papers.

Joe is drinking alone - yuck too much close up of that snog....

Oh dear - a pint of bitter and a large whisky ...

The lovely Major Tim has been stood up in favour of Sam to go to the dinner. Well, what's all that about then?

Sam's father is a Colonel. I see, so she's an army brat.

Stacey is rather a strange looking girl and her dress sense is questionable! Still, if Andy is smitten, good luck to him.

Why do all squaddies want to start a fight? Looks like Joe is heading for trouble in that bar.

Joe has punched that soldier and he is unconscious - shows how dangerous one punch can be in real life - not like Hollywood bust ups.

What a horrible shade of brown - charming "You are not a woman, you're a soldier!" Yes, but show some politeness. Wonder why he has asked her, it sounds like he didn't really want her to attend.

Oh heavens, that Colonel is army through and through, no sympathetic side to his personality whatsoever.

Now she knows why she had to attend - her Dad is there. Colonel looks irritated.

Ah-ha, Sams father is there. Looks as if he asked the Colonel to pull some strings so that she'd be there.

I recognise the actor playing the father. Was he an officer in some wartime type drama.?

I recognise his face ilove but it doesn't ring any bells for other series.

The senior officer mentions the newspaper story to the Colonel. They aren't happy about the breach of discipline. They are urging him to weedle out the culprit.

Steve, Andy and The Elf go into the wolfs lair to look for Joe. Trouble is a brewing, I fear!
