Sad to see eamon + Ruth leave this morning

Just read eamon and Ruth will no longer be hosting Fridays This Morning in favour of Alison and Dermot. While I like them I like the fact eamon and Ruth don't have to socially distance and they have that old married couple banter we can all relate to. It's a shame Holly and Phil couldn't do one less day so they can stay on and continue to mix it up a bit

I’m still astounded. And not in a good way.

Both Derm and Alison seem lovely but this is not for them. And it ain’t for me.

And to get unceremoniously dumped. They could have done a runner but they stayed to the end as they have professionalism on their side.

I hope to Christ they get a rival programme at Auntie as I can’t tune into the grin twins or their disciples.

I don’t care for cronyism and friends in high (or low) places.

I just want a decent daytime telly programme without insincerity and infantile giggling every day and twice on Tuesday.

Ruth has giggles too but we have all been in on the joke with her. It isn’t some private joke for the inner circle.

That would learn the grin twins. And I reckon that no one would have had double dip illnesses or sock injuries and the like if they’d been at the helm... and there would have been a happy panel too probably...

Alison Hammond I like too, she's just so down to earth.
Rochelle just makes me turn off. I'd rather do housework than watch Rochelle. Dreadful presenter. Tends to look on edge and comes across as totally insincere and fake. It's like watching the fall out of a reception class assembly.

I’ve found E&R a welcome breath of fresh air this week. We are similar ages (plus a few years) and long time married so we see parallels to our relationship in them. Ruth comes across to me as a very genuine person and I love the way she can counter Eamon’s quips and sarcastic comments with a telling remark. I agree though that he seems as though he’d rather be somewhere else most of the time.

Anybody who listens to Steve Allen on LBC will know his opinion of them - he thinks they’re terrible - but he thinks he’s the world’s greatest presenter so it’s hardly surprising. I don’t know what went wrong with the proposed BBC show hosted by E&R but it’s good to have them back on This Morning.

I was amazed to find Eammon doesn't drink. He seems to be pissed most of the time. I was flabbergasted to find Donald Trump doesn't drink, either - I thought he must have been pissed late at night when he was posting crap on Twitter. The thought of him doing that sober is mindblowing!

@SheldonesqueIsUnwell It really is quite strange! Many on teams who work with him appear to be unhappy, aside from his sidekick.

I've not had any time for Eamon for years. As a long time ago he displayed homophobic tendencies when he criticised the first two gay guys to adopt a child. It was because they had a nanny to help. I knew at the time that his sidekick at the time (Fiona) had a nanny but that was OK because she is straight.
