I have the feeling that tonight's episode is going to be a disappointment.

iknowimcoming · 18/12/2020 17:58

@SoupDragon we could almost consider that a spoiler it's so likely to be true! Grin

nancy75 · 18/12/2020 17:58

Well considering we’re all expecting a naked, undead policeman with hints of hyperthermia I think disappointment is probably an understatement Grin

SoupDragon · 18/12/2020 18:00

😂

willsantausesantatize · 18/12/2020 21:10

I'm giving up on EE ( I know I've said it before) but seeing a scantily dressed Linda lunging at her husbands bits is the final straw! Do they need to do this? Really ?
Then showing up across the road to her husband to shag Max?
God , it's getting worse by the episode lately!

Iwantacookie · 18/12/2020 21:12

I was completely gutted she slept with max. I'm sick on noone on a soap being able to be faithful.

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 18/12/2020 21:12

Was that canned laughter? When they were auditioning the santas?

willsantausesantatize · 18/12/2020 21:17

Linda said ' I'm a good mum' then went over to sleep with a man who was her arch enemy a few years back!
Only on EE eh?

Smallsteps88 · 18/12/2020 21:21

The problem is Linda has no friends.

In real life she’d lift the phone to a mate and say “I’m coming over, get the wine ready” and they’d have a good rant about mock and put the world to rites.

willsantausesantatize · 18/12/2020 21:33

No, they don't have friends on EE much do they? It's true.

Smallsteps88 · 18/12/2020 21:37

It’s become so far removed from what EE used to be. People only have friends or interactions with people if it’s of consequence to the storyline. There’s no normal conversations anymore. Back in the day Pauline used to sit and have a cuppa with Kathy and they’d talk about Arthur or Martin or Phil or whatever. The conversation wasn’t dramatic or revealing or angry or whatever. It was just normal conversation. Same with bianca and Tiffany. Loads of snippets of them just being friends. No-one had friends on the square now unless it’s leading to a storyline.

willsantausesantatize · 18/12/2020 21:48

Sharon and L were friends once but now they seem distant.
Plus L was ' bursting her bubble' there seeing Max! No SD or mask wearing going on at all :) she has no shame !

Smallsteps88 · 18/12/2020 21:48

I did wonder about the social distancing! Grin

willsantausesantatize · 18/12/2020 21:57

Linda the ' super covid spreader' of Albert square.
I love how Max was sitting about waiting for her to rock up!
So realistic ' not !

nancy75 · 18/12/2020 22:35

Well disappointing indeed.
The best thing was Kim’s ‘bay watch not crime watch’ comment to Stuart

The Linda that we’ve watched for years would never go off with Max like that - she would be fighting to find out what was wrong with Mick not swanning off for a bunk up with the local man tart.

Stuart & Rainie seem to have recovered well from the shock of the policeman’s return to the land of the living

yarncakes · 18/12/2020 22:47

Max must be riddled with STDs.

SoupDragon · 18/12/2020 22:53

There's still a chance Linda will back out at the last minute I guess. None of it makes any sense whatsoever.

Smallsteps88 · 18/12/2020 22:53

The best thing was Kim’s ‘bay watch not crime watch’ comment to Stuart

Agreed! Grin I loved that. Rainie looked ready to kill Kim!

Chienloup · 19/12/2020 00:56

@nancy75

Actually, now you say it, no I don’t suppose they do put the coffin in a fridge. So the policeman’s resurrection must have happened after Stuart had put him in the fridge & then taken him out of the fridge & put him in the coffin?

So we could say it was not so much a resurrection - more of a defrosting?

Clearly irl coffins don't go in fridges. But in this case it was two weeks since the attack - so Stuart had had the "body" for two weeks. If the man's been in the fridge for two weeks he can't have resurrected after he was transferred to a coffin. But if wasn't in a fridge but was in a coffin, he would have started to stink. So presumably in this case, they have special fridges in Walford where they can fit whole coffins in!

And how stupid are Lanky and Stretchy (or whatever they're called) if they can't tell the difference between an empty coffin and an occupied one when they load it into a hearse?

EastEnders used to have really good attention to detail, but there days they just ignore plot holes (Max not just paying the money back and now this).

Chienloup · 19/12/2020 00:57

@nancy75

Well considering we’re all expecting a naked, undead policeman with hints of hyperthermia I think disappointment is probably an understatement Grin
Oh this would have been great!
Thismustbelove · 19/12/2020 01:27

I have to say if I was Linda, I’d leave Mick too. There is only so much misery someone can put up with.

The Santa thing was bizarre. They were auditioning to dress up as Santa to give out gifts to homeless kids in the community centre??? Isn’t that something you’d usually rope in anyone who was an involved member of the community/plea with a volunteer to help you out. Is Watford some parallel universe where people try to win the ‘job’?

How many times can we listen to Katie say the same old thing. When she was speaking this evening, I was wondering if she changed her too before they repeated her arriving into the flat again. That’s when you know they have lost the viewers really.

Tina is irritating too. Whether she likes Grey or not, she was homeless and he agreed to let her live in his house when everybody else has had enough of her. Was Tosh violent? I remember Tosh’s name but not the storyline. Is that why Tina is there is to ‘recognise’ the signs of a violent person? Seeing as half the square were/are violent I don’t see how she will recognise it in Grey tbh.
Are we to believe Suki never continued watching the cctv after Ben was in it? The police would have watched it through - presumably.

Coffins are usually closed from the outside with clasps and bodies are heavy. Stewart didn’t notice the coffin was light when he was moving it to the hearse? The policeman walked out naked and went back to work for his disciplinary hearing?
I don’t want the bin storylines back but EE has lost its way completely.
The only thing I’m interested in is the new dynamic between Phil and Suki and their fight to be king or queen of Walford.

PinkDaydreams · 19/12/2020 06:47

I was also very disappointed with Linda, I was hoping she'd go to see Sharon but like a pp said, those two are distant now.

Max sat there listening to music, it was very predictable she was going to knock on his door. Where were the kids, he said no one was in? (Am I right in thinking jack and Amy live there too? We haven't t seen baby Abbie for a bit either) Anyway, what was the song he was listening to as I actually quite like it??!!Blush

PinkDaydreams · 19/12/2020 06:48

And the copper isn't dead, or dead dead, he's........deadfrosted!

SoupDragon · 19/12/2020 08:13

what was the song he was listening to as I actually quite like it?

Strong by London Grammar.

SoupDragon · 19/12/2020 08:18

I don't think Rainie and Stuart put the coffin in the hearse as they called for the assistants to take it back out again. I suppose they didn't like to ask. Or perhaps it isn't unusual for Walford.
