South, I'm not sure really to be fair. I think it's sad they have made Mick have all this going on when the Carter's have been through so much over the years as well.
It's just more misery.

Smallsteps88 · 22/11/2020 12:21

Personally I’m just so fed up of them using very serious issues like abuse for viewing figures over and over again with no consideration for real victims and how it makes them feel to see the abusers get away almost every time. I have zero hope that micks abuser will be charged by Xmas. Chantelle’s hasn’t.

I still can’t believe Gray has got off Scot free, thought after a few weeks they would do a big story. I will hold a grudge if Frankie mum gets arrested and he doesn’t.

They can lock Ian up any time they like that’s fine by me.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 23/11/2020 08:37

I think the murder will come back to haunt Gray in the future in some way. Its too good for the writers to just forget about it.

It’s really not the point though. They made a big deal of going to the effort of working with women’s aid for that story to get it right. They worked with the actual victims of the issue they were hi-lighting. They used their stories and experiences which won’t have been easy to share. They set current abuse victims up to have some sort of hope they can escape and get justice, and then they crapped all over those people by not only not having Chantelle escape but by not even having him face justice when he killed her. Him feeling bad/guilty/paranoid is not justice.
SoupDragon · 23/11/2020 08:53

Have the people they consulted spoken out about any anger/disappointment about how it was handled? If not, I wonder if they know how the story is going to pan out and are happy with it. I don't know, i've not looked.

There is no way EE will let him get away with it. I assume he will get his comeuppance at Christmas.

The sad truth is that it is probably quite realistic though.

excelledyourself · 23/11/2020 09:08

Do people think he'll confess? I don't see how else the truth will come out?

I think it’s going to have to be a confession. I reckon Shirley will be the one to discover it somehow. Maybe one of the DCs will mention something. Or maybe Tina will work it out but gray will convince Shirley she’s lying and kick her out.
SoupDragon · 23/11/2020 09:20

Yes, he will have to confess. I can't see any other way.

Unless Chantelle left a detailed diary and they exhume her body (although I'm not sure she was buried).

SewingBeeAddict · 23/11/2020 09:47

I think one of the DC will say something.
They must have heard shouting/ screaming etc

lazymum99 · 23/11/2020 09:59

Was there a phone with some messages on which might be found?

lazymum99 · 23/11/2020 09:59

But more likely that one of the children saw something

SoupDragon · 23/11/2020 10:05

Grey ditched a phone in a bin on the square didn't he? Or was it just the escape money?

SewingBeeAddict · 23/11/2020 11:50

I think it was Chantelles secret phone
the80sweregreat · 23/11/2020 12:46

Tina was the victim of DV with the fire woman girlfriend she had , so maybe she'll be living there and pick up on something or the children will tell her they heard something?
His being all nice lately: maybe the writers want to keep him in it , so he'll get away with it? It's been a while now since Chantelle died.

One pizza between three of them?

That’s what’s important here.

the80sweregreat · 23/11/2020 20:44

Why wasn't Gray at work and where are the children? Whitney will fall for him won't she?
Kush in the loft in Dots place yet the police are not searching the house for him just parked outside! Maybe they are scared of bursting Dotty's bubble and mixing households? Smile surely they have observed all the people in and out of there?
Walford police are really useless.
Mick is acting very shifty isn't he?

Akire · 23/11/2020 23:18

His wife died 2m ago and he has already moved in two women and third coming around for dinner. Cosy!

Do we believe the fire had happened? Surely if they are working and living there they can stay with friends in the mean time? Not going be ins cardboard box are they. Especially as they don’t want Max to know or help. Dodgy or what.

Chienloup · 24/11/2020 00:20

After tonight's episode I feel like it is being set up that Grey will lose it with Tina and end up hitting her, and from there Kheerat will be believed and Grey will finally be found out. I hope so anyway.

What I didn't get about tonight's episode was Ash following Peter around. I don't recall them ever being friends before and then she was just at the Beale's house. Weird.

There hasn't been much buzz around the lead-up to Christmas yet. But by I'm guessing Christmas week be the Mick storyline and NYE will be the Grey reveal, or maybe something to do with Peter/Ian/Bobby now Peter has his sights set on revenge.

I hope Kush buggers off to Dubai to be with his mum and dad now. I used to like him, but since he's been with Kat I have gone right off him (and I do like Kat). How bloody insensitive to hide in Whitney's attic.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2020 07:51

Why wasn't Gray at work and where are the children?

The children are with Karen I think - they went there after Grey tried to blow them up. He works for the Mitchells now so probably works from home.

They do seem to be setting the wheels in motion for him to be found out though which is good.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2020 07:52

I didn't understand the whole Ash and Peter thing either!

lazymum99 · 24/11/2020 09:04

The fire thing in New Zealand is very odd. A 2 second conversation. Not been any reference before of Peter being in touch with Lauren and Louis.
Kush is really pathetic and annoying now. Looks like Kat has lost her patience with him.
Do we know who hit Mick?

the80sweregreat · 24/11/2020 09:09

Ash is a doctor so she should be at work but she was following Peter about instead. She's never at work! When did they become great friends? Weird.
If Ian hadn't any money how could he afford to charge his will ? It's about £80 to change a will ( or was , when I did it 12 years ago!)
Why leave Peter out anyway? No sense.

Why doesn't Lauren want Max to know about the fire? They didn't leave on bad terms ( or did they? They might have done)
I know socially distancing is real this year but staying up in the loft is a-bit much!
(I bet Kush leaves under cover of darkness with his hood up to detract from the police outside his door! )
I wonder what the big Christmas story will be this year as everything is so over the place with nonsense storylines and hard to keep up with what is what.
At least the pub can open for Christmas! Smiletier 2 in London.
