@SpookyNoise

Easily solved with a DNA test. I don’t know why Mick hasn’t suggested it.
Because the only DNA testing lab was shut down after a nasty data protection incident when they emailed a client's results to her blackmailer.
TheUnquestionedAnswer · 11/11/2020 23:35

[quote AaronCardigan]@TheUnquestionedAnswer Mick does look like Dracula, especially in those waistcoats - Count Mickula.

I want more Jay appearances; not with Honey though, she was a motherly figure to him at one point.

Gratuitous photo of lovely Jay with my daughter.

Oh the photo didn’t attach Grin

Smallsteps88 · 12/11/2020 08:17

Aww he’s such a sweetie! Was your DD all startstruck? Or does she not know who he is? Grin

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2020 09:26

Spanishfly, I do agree with you. Many actors work long irregular hours and it must take its toll on their home lives. I know other people do too of course, but it can't help matters. Then they have to 'pretend' to be married to or with someone else or something : it can't be easy.
Jay looks lovely in that photo! Bless him.
I agree that The count as a victim isn't very well done. Actually, Billy would have been better with this story as he was in care too but as his older so it wouldn't have worked.

IOwnDogsNotFrogs · 12/11/2020 13:59

@Smallsteps88 Yeah she knows who he is and was a bit shy and starstruck!
He walked past us and I was going ‘That’s Jay from Eastenders! Do you think I should ask him for a photo, we can’t miss this opportunity!’
My older kids (teenagers) were like ‘no way, you can’t speak to him, it’s embarrassing’ Grin
They wouldn’t have their photo taken but the youngest was well up for it.
I printed it off and she took it to school!

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2020 14:07

Ahh, I'm so pleased that Jay was nice! A few times I've read about celebs being horrible or grumpy etc and it's sad they don't take time for the fans for whatever reason. Let's hope fame doesn't go to his head too much !

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2020 19:42

Phil in a leopard skin tabard ! Priceless.

AaronCardigan · 12/11/2020 19:44

Crying!! Philth in leopard print

Optimist1 · 12/11/2020 21:41

If I was planning The Job, I'd be thinking about where the car keys are kept (surely Phil's not planning to hotwire all three?), and whether there were trackers fitted, given the value. No-one seems to have thought of these potential problems. I feel I would have made a better master criminal than Kat and Phil! Grin

tobee · 13/11/2020 05:24

It's horrible when you find out celebrities you like are unpleasant. But I think sometimes it works the other way. Ones you think are a bit naff or whatever, you find are really nice! Smile

Talking of actors having affairs, it makes me think of all the strictly break ups and affairs. ShockPresumably it's the intensity of the hours working together and the passion in some of the dances? Plus certain places/situations are full of excitement/adrenaline? I went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival when I was young a few times and there was always a massive sexual charge going on there, everyone excited about their potential, party atmosphere etc etc GrinGrin

Bit of a nothingy episode tonight (Thursday) although I liked the bit with Denise and Raymond at the church.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 09:32

Nicking those cars when you live with a policeman ( who is never at work it seems) is asking for trouble!
I feel bad that Phil is involved in this. They are beautiful cars and should be left alone!
( I know it's not true)
Kat bossing him about was funny though.
The caretaker seemed nice and very natural acting with those two I thought.
The church man was nice. I know Dot used to go to church and vicars have been in the soap before etc but it's mostly not really mentioned much , so nice to see I think and quite positive. ( im not religious myself)

mrswhiplington · 13/11/2020 10:22

the80s it was lovely seeing little Raymond walking into the church smiling and clapping. Hopefully Denise has turned a corner with him but I'm sure Phil will put a spanner in the works at some point.

Loved Phil in his tabard. I wear one at work (not leopard print) and don't look anywhere near as good.Grin

SinisterBumFacedCat · 13/11/2020 10:32

Call me cynical, but I think they were angling for a “classic moment” with Phil in a leopard print tabard.

Meanwhile, seeing Raymond smile in the church was lovely.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 10:53

Sinister, not cynical at all as his pic in the tabard was up on the EE Facebook fan page by 8pm! I used to wear one for my old job and I looked a sight too. They are not easy to look good in at all.

woodhill · 13/11/2020 13:04

Church was nice.

I don't like the way Kat is operating, being pally with security guard.,where are the rest of the cleaning team like Mo etc

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2020 13:29

Just seen

Phil in leopard print. Priceless

I'm calling a Kat and Phil romance. Bonny and Clyde of Albert square. How can he resist the not so subtle power of her humiliating put downs.

AaronCardigan · 14/11/2020 09:43

I sense a Kat and Phil romance too. It certainly brings out a light hearted side to Phil.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/11/2020 09:48

I would 10000x rather see Kat'n'Philth over Honey'n'Jay .

Phil always put Sharon on a pedestal , even after the very complex triangle of Phil/Grant/Sharon over the years . He was always aware she was out of his league . Established in The Square when the Mitchells arrived .Dirty Den was a legend in his day etc.

Kat would definately be his equal and take no shit . Phil might well be a womanising, violent, alcoholic ex drug user , but I think he looks down on gambling as a mugs game .

And when I watched on catch-up (oly saw Part 1 of the 2 parter though) have they back pedalled on the story line of Mick being abused ? That it was an false memory ? Had they gone so far along with the storyline but couldn't carry on that track because of the backlash?

Or is Katy blaming Mick ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2020 11:00

Sure they have had sex once .
OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 14/11/2020 14:10

I can't remember if Phil has ever slept with Kat, but my memory isn't what it used to be. I would say no , but he gets about a lot , so it might have happened a long time ago.
Kat did once have an affair with Derek Branning ( who died of a heart attack) and that character was really horrible , so she isn't that fussy. (Bagging the lovely Kush was one of her better conquests though. )
Worst one was Andy Hunter ( ?) the gangster , who despite being quite nice looking was also nasty and horrible. She nearly married that one.
She hasn't much luck with men at all :( Alfie also messed her around a lot.

bloodyhairy · 14/11/2020 21:48

Kat has terrible 'man' judgement for sure. But then she's not exactly known for her good choices in general ...
Derek Branning was one of the soap's best ever villains.
