Peter was desperate for him & Prue to try the third flavour of his cake and Paul was less than complimentary about it.

He was joking, he laughed and said it was delicious.

CassandrasCastle · 17/11/2020 21:16

What the fuck. Noo, I hate this decision! It's so stupid

MaggieFS · 17/11/2020 21:16

@SequinsandStiIettos

Right choice. Harsh but fair. Flavour over Presentation. You can't eat a rubber ball because of gelatine overkill. Hermine choked. It happens. But had she gone through based on the series as a whole, that would have been completely unfair on all the others who left on one bad week only eg Sura Peter has it in the bag now, surely?

Yes, agree with this, but still shocked!

awaynboilyurheid · 17/11/2020 21:18

Awww really thought Laura should have gone! Ermine just had one bad week but Laura had lots of them!

TheChristmasPrincess · 17/11/2020 21:19

Even Noel and Matt we’re backing Hermine and knew she was the superior baker. And Noel knows fuck all about baking 😡

CassandrasCastle · 17/11/2020 21:20

Why am I getting so worked up over Bake Off 🙈 I just really feel that Hermine was robbed! And I don't want to watch Laura flailing around anymore

onewhitewhisker · 17/11/2020 21:20

increasingly it all seems to be weighted on the showstopper these days and the other two challenges not really considered. Across the three Hermine would have edged it surely.

iklboogeymum · 17/11/2020 21:21

You never can tell with Monsieur Hollywood. He is fairly inscrutable.

He was laughing when he said he was joking. You can't get more scrutable than that - and that's not even a word Grin

TheDogsMother · 17/11/2020 21:21

Not right but see you this time next week. At least when it's finished I can watch Tuesday's Masterchef live

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/11/2020 21:23

Paul was definitely joking.

See you next week even though I don't care.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 17/11/2020 21:25

Hermine was robbed! Across the board she's been sooooo much better than Laura - who should've gone two weeks ago instead of Lottie.

Can't bear Laura. She's obnoxious.

CassandrasCastle · 17/11/2020 21:25

Mehhh, I don't care either...I guess I'm behind Peter though. Laura and Dave annoy me 😶

To be honest, I missed the bit when he said he was joking. Dog needed out - mea culpa.

Scrutable is indeed a word! Who knew? Shock

MaggieFS · 17/11/2020 21:29

Not my favourite, but I think Peter deserves to win.

Remind me- is the final judged just on next week alone or all of the series?

ilovecardigans · 17/11/2020 21:31

All I know is I'm glad I'm not the one having to clean down Laura's workstation...

hopeishere · 17/11/2020 21:32

Just on next week. There was one year where someone (Steph) had been amazing and then ballsed it all up in the final (I think) Paul had tried talk her down at one point.

PullTheBricksDown · 17/11/2020 21:43

Richard the builder had been great all series, won star baker 5 times I think, then messed up in the final and lost it. They do like to surprise us. The twist in the tale is getting harder to accept though.

Butteredtoast55 · 17/11/2020 22:22

On the whole Hermine has been better but they always say how delicious Laura’s bakes are even if they look a state. Hermine had to cook her signature twice and it was very simple (looked lovely though!) and the dough was underproved. The showstopper was inedible. The only thing she did well this week was the technical so, much as it feels wrong, she had to go.

Butteredtoast55 · 17/11/2020 22:24

PullTheBricksDown Richard was brilliant. That was my favourite series and so sad that Louis died just two weeks ago.

Grin indeed. I was agog...chocolate floating off the worktop. What a waste! I am a clumsy beggar but Laura seems a Woman of Mass Destruction. Surely she can't get her own kitchen into that state. I would never cook again if I had to clear up to that extent as well as sort out the making/baking side.

I really liked Louis too! Very sad to hear of his death. Yes that was a great series.
TheoriginalLEM · 17/11/2020 22:41

But shes been star baker twice! Laura is a moody mare and irritates me during the technical, she didnt even try ffs

ilovecardigans · 17/11/2020 22:43

Laura seems a Woman of Mass Destruction

That did make me laugh, Carol! My husband was also pondering the state of her kitchen at home. Perhaps she has a very obliging other half who willing cleans up after her in exchange for cake. Grin

To be fair, I wouldn't have minded licking all that chocolate off the counter. It was a veritable lake of chocolate!

CherryValanc · 17/11/2020 22:44

It's been a weird decision for a lot if weeks about Laura "I'm not posh" MessyPup. As said above even Noel was "don't know why Laura's still here" when Paul and Pru were suggesting Hermine should go.

Don't get why Hermine didn't do well she's usually good. Rubbish. I imagine it has to be Perfect Peter winning now

ilovecardigans · 17/11/2020 22:48

I loved that series too Butteredtoast. Dreadfully sad to hear that Luis had died, he came across as such a lovely, joyful man.
