Anyone waiting for This is Us season 5? Hopefully will show in UK end of October! Anyone who hasn't watched it, I would strongly recommend it!

@TabooNCoke

I’ll play. My suggestions are

  • Randall has a heart to heart with deja/Annie/tess/Malik and links their suffering to his adoption/anxiety/other angst. Sentimental music plays as Beth makes a sweet but sarcastic comment
  • Kate unintentionally hurts someone’s feelings (probably Toby) by saying something without thinking. Toby holds back from criticising her and she gets away with acting like a numpty again. Audience forgives her because her eye make is pretty impressive and her hair is swishy and distracts us. Luckily she is no longer obsessed with watching football with her dads ashes...
  • Kevin’s life continues to be a flipping dream and he keeps landing amazing roles despite never seeming to take acting that seriously. He tries to play the hero and solves someone’s problems in our imaginary episode, and we flash back to Jack doing the same thing (for the 100th time - I mean seriously, how action packed was Jack’s life - didn’t he spend much of it hiding his drinking, so why is every episode with him being a perfect, sober dad??)
  • Rebecca continues to be boring and bland, but perfectly nice.
  • madison, Toby, Beth and Miguel continue to think “wtf is wrong with this family?”

And I continue to watch!!

Reliesed im 2 behind

Have 12 and 13 to watch

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 25/04/2021 23:27

I wonder why they keep delaying the episodes. After binge watching the whole set, I am now feeling like I am losing touch with it.

weewitch · 25/04/2021 23:41

I agree - it's very odd and makes the whole season so disjointed.

nokidshere · 26/04/2021 12:37

My sister in the U.S. says it's not due back on till 11th May.

Yeah, I posted that above over the weekend so it’ll be the Thursday 13th for us in the UK.
Libertynan · 28/04/2021 13:19

I just caught up with the latest episodes.

Agree that it is all a little disjointed now - I never know if there is going to be a new episode to watch or not.

Kate was a bit wet on her first day at her new job. The teacher guy is stroppy tbf, but still.

PerditaNitt · 28/04/2021 13:42

@Libertynan agree that Kate wasn’t great on her first day. She needed reminding that she is the sole breadwinner and needs to take it more seriously! I was on the side of the stroppy teacher (can you tell that I have no time for Kate)

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2021 19:36

Kate was very wet and running late tho one doesn’t need to be there an hour early like other teacher

Tho she did get the girl to sing better

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2021 20:56

Finally caught up

Hoping will be new episode tomorrow

Randall does seem very needy

But equally must have been hard being black in a white family

The boys weekend showed that when the lanyard guy assumed the other boy was his son. And not Randall

cantsitwithus · 11/05/2021 13:59

I'm afraid I fast forwarded through Randall and Kevin's "heart to heart" AKA Randall Whingefest.

I like him less and less each episode.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2021 14:32

He does seem to have taken it all personally

TheAlphaandtheOmega · 13/05/2021 11:53

New episode there now

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2021 13:38

Yah. Fab. Will watch tonight

SapatSea · 13/05/2021 13:39

Disappointed in new episode. Like watching the paint on Toby's ceiling dry.

Walkerby · 13/05/2021 20:39

I can’t see it on Prime, my last one showing is Brotherly Love, how are you finding the new episode??

TheAlphaandtheOmega · 13/05/2021 20:50

I watched it on Prime via Apple TV, a couple of time though I have had to watch a bit of the previous episode to make the new one appear

Lurleene · 13/05/2021 23:16

Just caught up with the latest - very random to see Paul Hollywood on the screen.
Probably old news to some but I found out today that Madison actress Caitlin Thomson is married to Dan Fogelman, the TIU show runner. They have been together for years and welcomed their first baby last year just as the the US went into lockdown. Smile

Orpheline · 14/05/2021 07:46

It's taking a big risk to leave huge gaps before the next episode.
Having loved this for years, I now feel disconnected from all the characters.
I won't be watching any further, and wish I stopped after the last season.

sunshineandshowers40 · 14/05/2021 14:20

I still love This is Us but S5 has been my least favourite. I like the character Madison but will be disappointed if Kevin marries her. I'm not sure either of them really want to be with each other.

Same here re S5, and the constant Covid reminders haven’t helped either.

I liked Madison as Kate’s friend but not as a main character, I think they’ve just settled for each other.

WellTidy · 14/05/2021 19:49

I came late to TIU and watched the first four series back to back. I really really loved it. This is the first series I’ve had to wait any length of time for an episode. And what a long wait it is between them! I lose interest, and the pace is quite slow.

I am normally really keen to watch a new episode, but the latest one was available for a over a day before I seemed to be able to want to spend 40 minutes watching it. Unheard of for previous episodes of TIU for me!

I hope Kevin and Madison don’t end up together too. They’re both settling and doing what they think is the right thing, rather than what is really right for each of them. He is looking quite fine, I have to say.

Is the actress playing Kate getting bigger?

All credit to them for trying to maintain the series during these times though, can’t be easy.

Clymene · 14/05/2021 21:23

Can anyone explain why Kevin, the Hollywood movie star, lives in a tiny little house? And why he's saying that he's got no money? He should be rolling in it.

MadisonAvenue · 14/05/2021 23:36

I wondered the same when he was saying about having a family to support. Isn’t the house Madison’s anyway? I thought he’d moved into her house while she was pregnant.
And on that subject, and I know we’ve asked this before and I don’t think we got an answer, what does Madison do that enables her to afford a house in
