I would say
Hollyoaks is the best soap.

Two Pints Of Lager is one of the best sitcoms of the noughties.

Black Mirror isn’t that great.

I don’t like Olivia Colman. She’s annoying and she’s pretty much the same in every role I’ve seen her in.

Ross is my favourite Friends character.

Carrie is my favourite Sex And The City character.

Fleabag was decent enough, but it’s ridiculously overrated. The obsession that the Guardian/Twitter have with it is kind of embarrassing.

Angus Deayton should still be host of Would I Lie To You, he’s much better than Rob Brydon.

Whilst I love Line Of Duty and have been watching from the start, I find the ‘H’ mystery completely tedious. I wish they’d wrap it up and move onto something new.

And unpopular for Mumsnet: I loved Clarkson, Hammond and May on Top Gear and no new line-up will ever come close to them. Old Top Gear was one of the best shows on TV.

Mrs Brown’s Boys is the unfunniest comedy in the known universe.

I can’t stand Julia in Motherland. I find her self absorbed and spoiled in her beautiful huge London suburban house. I get that it’s supposed to be a comedy but it’s hard to be sympathetic to her character when you’re disabled [self employed musician during a pandemic to now add in to the mix]in a northern mill town council estate with no hope of childcare ever as it’s completely out of my financial reach. The whole show is painfully first world problem-y and middle class. Interviewing for a nanny and getting so stressed, come on woman! Having said that I do watch and enjoy it and I get that I probably sound mega bitter and reading too much into it etc. But that’s why I know this will be an unpopular tv opinion!

I also loathe Julia. I do think she’s supposed to be a fairly unsympathetic character though. I think she perfectly typifies the sharp-elbowed North London MC working mum beset with first world problems and that she would fit in fairly well on MN 😆

In a similar vein to The Wire, I tried watching The Sopranos as it also gets called the best drama ever, and I found it dull as dishwater.

I think Luther is so bad, it’s actually quite funny DP and I tried it. In one scene a bloke slid out from under a woman's bed. Presumably meant to be terrifying, but he looked as if he was on some kind of wheeley trolley and DP and I laughed out loud. We haven't watched it again as we agree we wouldn't be able to take it seriously

I think it was the first ever episode and Luther at one point is swinging from some ropes brandishing a sword or something, DP and I were pissing ourselves.

Normal People was good but not deserving of all the hype, and the story (albeit a book adaptation and v close it was too) was full of 'well that would never happen' moments.

The Inbetweeners is hilarious, as is Alison Hammond.

Yes! She always struck me as snobbish and rude, I never understood the apparent warm cuddliness that everyone else seemed to feel about her.

So true. Its embarrassingly awful. Ditto Gavin and Stacey - first time I watched it, I thought surely this is some kind of parody of a bad comedy
