I am debating whether I should really be sitting here watching it, feel like I'm being rather complicit...

for most of the reasons below i did not bother leaving my warm bed last night to watch that effing show.

it depresses me that people can treat babies so inhumanely.

watching babies scream (with hunger) and denied human touch, well, what would the great apes think of us if we were to do this infront of them.

whenever I watched those babies being force fed and then vomiting up the excees, I remembered this link

idiots

their argument is backwards

they should WITHDRAW their sponsorship

WindlePoons · 10/10/2007 10:25

You do wonder if they (huggies) watched it before agreeing to the deal

They withdrwe after the racism incidents

very public and embarassing to chanell4

MrsJohnCusack · 10/10/2007 10:36

you know, just reading about this fucking programme is making me feel tearful

and force feeding - surely abuse? what is WRONG with people

deeply, deeply distasteful using tiny babies to make TV in this way. But then it seems that the parents are complicit in quite a lot of it? So presumably CV is only providing a service that many people want to use.

and pulling pants down in a restaurant is bad, but pulling down your trackie bottoms for a quick shag with MIck Jagger whilst Jerry is in the next room is boastworthy? Has the woman no sense of irony?

Can comfort myself with the fact that her evilness is certainly showing on her face.

fuckers, the lot of them

We watched last night and I have to say that for a "get your life back quickly" method, the Truby King parents did seem to be doing a lot more than they had to with their babies. Force feeding, starving, prodding them, waking them up etc. God, how exhausting! Shame it was so cruel too . Felt for the poor little babies. They did look fatter at 6 months though IMO.

Dreena did get the thing about the milk wrong too. First milk is whey based and Hungry baby milk is caesin (sp?) based and is therefore harder to digest and fills a baby up for longer.

The programme has had one very positive effect though, dh is very broody all of a sudden .

NumberSix, I meant at the end of the prog when you saw all the parents meet up (maybe they were younger, I don't know), but the babies were really big.

I'm surprised Tamsin Greig lowered herself to do the voiceover. She must have read the script and known what would be shown so what's her excuse? Whenever I've heard her being interviewed she's always sounded lovely and sensible, just shows how the offer of money can turn anyone's head (a bit like those tossers who do Tesco ad voiceovers and then prob spend the megawonga they've earned in Waitrose or M and S).

Damn, now every time I watch Greenwing or Black books I'll be reminded of this bloody programme....

AitchTwoOh · 10/10/2007 12:16

it was at six months, i think, that they met up. is it wrong of me to project onto them my dislike of CV's methods and say that i also thought they looked less engaged than the other babies? i've seen the ep, i'll be interested to see if anyone agrees with me next week.

bagpuss · 10/10/2007 12:41

Aitch the bit that is already sticking in my mind was when Mia's mother was proudly telling one of the other families that her daughter was sleeping from 7-7, like that is the be all and end all of parenting a small baby . I just know that the final programme is likely to upset me.

PoshCod · 10/10/2007 12:45

the parents are the fruit loops imo
( i watched 5 mins)

AitchTwoOh · 10/10/2007 13:16

i looooooove the curly-headed CC mum... she's gorgeous. but the parents of the twins should have shown CV the door after the first visit, she was so rude to them. however, they said she was great, thus identifying themselves as The Stupidest People In The World.

PoshCod · 10/10/2007 13:16
