Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Do you remember Rhu that when I stayed at Bailbrook House with a friend, one of the posters on here called Nickel rang the hotel and sorted it for us to sit at that very table? My friend had no idea. She watched the series avidly and was really excited when we were seated at that table. She thought it was a fluke and I have to this day let on it was all planned in advance.

I mean I've never let on.....

Yes, oh my goodness - I wonder how many times people asked to sit at that table ilove. I would just hug that little memory to yourself and enjoy it

Now "Soldier, Soldier" - didn't we finish the last series when Dave finally accepted that it was over with Donna and there was that tense story where they went to an airfield and there was a firefight with rebels. Dr Sadie and the Colonel made it up and the poor Australian Sergeant sacrificed himself. I thought we were about to start a new series.

I need to dig through my Soldier Soldier DVDs as I can't remember which series it is. If I am on the right track, there are a number of new faces in the next series and the storylines get a little less plausible.

I'm thinking we are about to start series 6.

I wonder if they re-edited it to try and tie things up once they knew that LT wasn’t doing another series? Otherwise, some things could have been left unresolved till series 2.

Ah, so our new sergeant is an ex-Para. Maybe that explains the attitude. Not bad looking though, but hardly a match for CJ or Elvis.
