glad I was brought up in the 1970's

Mossy · 02/10/2007 22:00

Pecka have a look at this site for ideas on baby wearing then choose a sling you like and get it off ebay!

Spanner81 · 02/10/2007 22:01

OMG...I am too angry to speak...how can a newborn be spoilt/a madam?? This implies that they are have some inherent manipulative streak..it's all I can do not to kick the TV in!!!!!!!!

SleepIsForTheWeak · 02/10/2007 22:01

think I am going to have to cuddle sleeping DS and eat ice cream now.
Feel traumatised.

tcmummy · 02/10/2007 22:01

littlebella- I think you're right. Just because it's some "guru" telling them to do it, it's ok. If it was a teen mum smoking out with some lads down the supermarket carpark while her babies were left screaming without being picked up and checked, they'd be trouble. Because they were having a posh meal with a glass of wine it's ok GRRRRRRRRR...

spookykitty · 02/10/2007 22:01

I don't know where to begin I wanted to punch CV or at least lock her in a dark room frightened and crying for 4 hours.

Yes twin parents have your champagne whilst that witch listens to your babies scream their lungs out for you and does nothing!

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 22:01

Awen, one of the women on my PN thread did an advertising thing for the slings they are using (at least I'm pretty sure it was that particular sling)......drop into June 07 and speak to dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow

I have been screaming at my television and feel just awful now. Talk about car crash television.

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 22:02

Idreamofchocolate - what size should i get? I am large busted but small waisted (when not preg). DP is well built tho. Between the medium and large,

Idreamofchocolate · 02/10/2007 22:02

Look at this for slings. That's where I got mine. (see pic on my profile page for DD2 in it!).

TheWiltedRose · 02/10/2007 22:02

is anyone going to complain to channel 4? how do u do it?

fondant4000 · 02/10/2007 22:03

I've still got my one, tatty, well-loved ring sling that I'm using for dd2 (10 months) - wish I'd spent all the money I spent on the 'ideal' pram/buggy and baby manuals on gorgeous slings..... sigh

kizzie · 02/10/2007 22:03

i thought that was just so appalling they way she spoke to twins grandmother. But then they should have stepped in and said - of course she can pick them up - shes their granny you stupid plasticine faced weirdo.

sheepgomeep · 02/10/2007 22:03

When I did bf my ds I remember sitting in the some car showroom bf in front of everyone inc the salesmen while my mum finalised a deal on her car.

What on earth is wrong in feeding in public?
seriously why dont some people like it?

kizzie · 02/10/2007 22:04

i wonder how their friends/colleagues are viewing the families now. Its very personal view of them. I dont know what Id say to the twins parents. WOuld find it very difficult to talk to them about the programme if i knew them

in the next ep that mum talks about her daughter as being the type of child who, if you give her an inch, will take a mile and that without the routine they'd have been at each other's throats. and now that she thinks this of her 6-week-old daughter, ffs, it will certainly come true. terrible way to talk about a child.

sarahtwobratz · 02/10/2007 22:05

I loved feeding my babies any where and every where. I felt so proud of it. Even walking down the street, during one of DD1's school trips. DD2 was only two weeks old & in a sling, who cares??? I now LOVE seeing other mums breast feeding, although makes me feel really jealous

fondant4000 · 02/10/2007 22:05

I'm terrified that my dds will think of me as interfering old bag when they have babies and I go on and on about demand feeding, carrying them everywhere etc. - will they think I'm nuts??

AllGonePossum · 02/10/2007 22:06

when you b/f in poublic it is very rare that anyone gets a flash of boob, unless your LO is going through a wriggly stage,. then you just make sure you pick a spot with your back to others. I have been congratulated on b/feeding in public far more than I have received criticism.
That being a little madam thing bugs me, neurologically babies cannot manipulate anyone, their neo cortex hasn't fired up that area of the brain and won't until they're about two.

Idreamofchocolate · 02/10/2007 22:06

Awen - the Tricot Slen is basically a really long piece of stretchy cotton fabric that you tie onto yourself. It caters for all sizes, so doesn't matter if you are big or small (dh can use the same sling as me quite happily).

(it's not the Tricotti sling BTW, you need to scroll futher down the slings and carriers page to find it).

tcmummy · 02/10/2007 22:07

I was so hoping the granny was going to get stuck in and tell her how stupid and cruel she was being her to her grandkids.
