@Blondeshavemorefun it was originally shown on BBC 2, which may be why many people haven't seen it. I missed series 1, not realising. .

I came across S2 completely by accident.

I'm hooked but preferred S1, 2 and 3 to the later ones.

Hope S6 doesn't disappoint. Can't bloody wait.

They alluded to it, which is different. It's been shown before, more than once though. If you know others are watching for the first time, why not let them have the same experience you had instead of telling them what happens?

Episodes 1 & 2 of Series 1 were shown on Monday and Tuesday night on BBC 1.
Are episodes 3 & 4 on next week ?
I am in Ireland and don't have access to the BBC player ( I can understand why as we don't pay for a UK tv license, we have our own Irish tv license to buy ).
I'd be willing to pay for access to the BBC player - it would help with their revenue if they opened it up to everyone willing to pay.

I think if it's a thread where the person hasn't seen it before so is watching on BBC when it's on and there's been 2 episodes on, it's ok to discuss those 2 episodes

Yes, watch it all and pay attention to the little boy bringing phones to the drug dealer and stealing the dead man's shoes. You will see him again much, much later.

It's a bit of a slow burner and things happen in Series 1 which are still relevant several series down the line. You need to pay attention.

I mean, one needs to pay attention. You, personally, are free to switch it off if you don't like it.

It's not something to watch whilst knocking back the wine - there's so much detail I missed first time around.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned how violent it is!

I never got through the first series when it initially aired as it was too much for me but came back to them a few years later.

As PP said, I think they get better with each season.
