No I was so bored after 3 episodes. It's complicated with really dull, unlikeable characters.

I disagree re: the characters. Having watched the first series years ago this time round I picked up on things I hadn't noticed before. It is complex rather than complicated and the story arc covers all the series.

I'm so envious of those who have never seen this.

Without spoiling it too much, no you don't have to put up with it for too long! It's been awhile since I watched S1 but still remember how much it grates on me.
