seriously. i'm watching it now for work and it is terribly upsetting. Claire Verity says 'i'm a bitch, i'm mean to them but it works', no touching, no eye contact, lots of talking about 'baby', presumably because she can't be arsed remembering the name... oh it's AWFUL.

she did seem to imply that as they got older then they suddenly start to have emotional needs - surely if you haven't cuddled for 6 months you're not going to start then.

cruisemum1 · 25/09/2007 21:56

kiskidee where are you??? I think she must have died of stress

GF is a routine - if you need a routine then I'm sure it works well.

ah, so all the slebs like her...

Claire Verity is a highly sought after baby expert, who has cared for a long list of babies of celebrities like Mick Jagger, Jerry Hall, Sting and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Over a career spanning 22 years she has advised many people including Princess Diana about baby care.

Tillyboo · 25/09/2007 21:58

Agh ........

Is CV the new 'Child Snatcher' ??

You can tell she has no children. Who'd want to shag such a cold bloody fish. I am amazed so many people have used her methods, they are a disgrace.

What normal mother would agree to not picking up her baby and what about the 'No eye contact', how cruel.

Her methods might work on the sodding farm, that's where she should have stayed in my opinion.

lanismum · 25/09/2007 21:58

oh ffs why doesnt this dim woman just go and cuddle the baby!

ratfly · 25/09/2007 21:58

I wouldnt WANT to leave her alone on the first night home - it felt like Christmas when we took ds home from hospital

OK for Diana to cuddle other people's babies tho?

Blu · 25/09/2007 21:58

re what NAO is sayng - i have a friend who emplyed someone v like V within a week of birh because they just couldn't cope - she said it was a life saver - and meant that.

It is inconceivab;e to me, but I never worried that I had no routine, no 'control' over my life etc etc.

they did this bit - leaving the baby to scream...how, HOW can anyone?

ratfly · 25/09/2007 21:58

PICK HER UP!!!!!!

massivebigpantsface · 25/09/2007 21:58

omfg! go to the little baby woman! how can she do this ?

kiskidee · 25/09/2007 21:58

I should think that that poor woman is sitting there crying instead of picking her going upstairs and baby up because she is under duress. by C4 and CV.

Lizzylou · 25/09/2007 21:58

Your baby is crying, it is not best for her!!!
She is newborn!!!
SHE NEEDS ATTENTION!!!!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 25/09/2007 21:58

GO AND PICK YOUR BABY UP

GColdtimer · 25/09/2007 21:59

i'd sue both the bastards.

NoBiggy · 25/09/2007 21:59

She's really bought into this hasn't she. Or is she trying to convince herself?

wheresthehamster · 25/09/2007 21:59

First night home with baby. A night to remember and cherish for most of us.
Not for this family

StealthPolarBear · 25/09/2007 21:59

Why is sleeping through the night seen as the ultimate goal? My DS is 21 weeks, when it happens, wonderful, when it doesn't it's fine.

barbamama · 25/09/2007 21:59
