How can I go from crying with laughter then sobbing like my heart is breaking the next all within one 30 minute programme.

It’s so good.
Anyone been watching?

Place marking for later. Ricky Gervais is one of my favourite humans.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 25/04/2020 11:29

IMO nowhere near as good as Season 1

Parts were just gross (the therapist) had to fast forward and others too much like "The Office".

Good acting but disappointing overall

Lailaloo747 · 25/04/2020 11:31

Watching it right now! Just got to the bit with the bloke posting his letters in the dog shit bin! Brilliant...laughing and crying at the same time.

crosser62 · 25/04/2020 13:18

It’s so good isn’t it!
Really don’t like the therapist bits though, nothing funny at all about that.

Identifies as an 8 year old girl, the wife was hilarious!

I watched the whole of season 2 yesterday, it is absolutely brilliant, I needed a good cry and definitely got it. Some lovely, funny bits too.
Agree that the therapist bits are weird! Paul Kaye always plays creeps well - not sure if thats a compliment or not though!

veryboredtoday · 25/04/2020 13:52

Brilliant series, you go through such a range of emotions watching it.

DorisKarloff · 25/04/2020 19:02

Loving pockets of it. - but the therapist parts are spoiling it.

Greenkit · 25/04/2020 21:05

Fabulous

Cried like a baby

motorcyclenumptiness · 25/04/2020 21:45

Just brilliant. My face is aching from laughing, my eyes are stinging from crying.

AnyFucker · 25/04/2020 21:50

I didn't like it

I mildly enjoyed season 1 but finding this one rather cliched

And I try very hard to like Ricky G but he's just so flat (I accept he is meant to be grieving but come on, try another tone of voice/facial expression)

thequeenbeyondthewall · 25/04/2020 21:52

I watched it yesterday. I loved it. Laughing and crying my eyes out the whole way through.

incognitomum · 25/04/2020 21:53

I watched it all and really enjoyed it but agree about the therapist, totally gross.

pooopypants · 25/04/2020 21:56

The therapist makes my doing crawl, and I haven't even watched season 2 yet!

pooopypants · 25/04/2020 21:57

Sameold2020 · 25/04/2020 21:59

Loved it. So much sadder. Watching it for a second time. I thought the characters were developed really well.

Middleagedmidwife · 25/04/2020 22:02

Loved first series but hating this one I’m afraid. No real humour. Agree therapist scenes are awful. Haven’t laughed at all. Really gutted as I was waiting for it to come back.

KickingItSince1966 · 25/04/2020 22:02

Just reading a thread about childbirth. Read your title as ”Afterbirth- bloody brilliance, right there on my screen!”

Naturalbornkiller · 25/04/2020 22:07

Crap, too much of Ricky's sad face when there could have been more funny bits from the other characters. Paul Kaye was one of the funny bits. But I guess I was watching it for a laugh, not to cry over a pug nosed man cry over his dead wife again, and again, and again, for two seasons.

Izzy24 · 28/04/2020 13:50

Absolutely brilliant.

Beautifully shot, great soundtrack.

Just perfect.

Reallybadidea · 28/04/2020 16:50

I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as season 1, but not sure whether that's because of my own lockdown-induced state of mind or the show itself.

Therapist is just stupid and unfunny.

Absolutely loved it! Me and my dp watched season 2 in one sitting.. we both laughed and cried

The80sweregreat · 28/04/2020 20:03

I'm loving season two.
It's typical Ricky , but he has this way of drawing you in.
The 100 year old woman in epi one was like my late mil and Kerry Goldiman ( his dead wife lisa) is fab in everything.
It's not subtle but I am enjoying it.

fortunacookie · 28/04/2020 20:24

Was good but agree not as good as first series.

The therapist and show spoilt it
