Anyone else planning on watching it?

Just washed it and loved it! Also watched the recording of the actual show linked to upthread, totally mad as the coughing was so obvious!

Mind the real Charles Ingram seemed a lot more affable in real life than he was portrayed-I thought it was painful how awkward he seemed in the show!

I think the recording that is linked earlier is the one where the sound has been altered to make the coughing obvious. It wasn’t like that on the original programme.

I'd love to know if the episode was edited on YouTube! It's so blatant how he's going for one answer, then mentions the other COUGH and changes it... Diana coughing twice, twice, was shown right on screen though for that question so couldn't have been edited in?!

The Radio Times article I read was a bit ambiguous about how it would conclude and how true to life it would be. I expected it to be more courtroom documentary but it's quite funny how it actually is.

I loved it. And I thought the early scenes showing how compelling the show was in that first week-long run were really good.

Loved Matthew McF, can’t believe he’s the same guy in Succession. Outstanding actor - the scene with the Gilbert & Sullivan singing.
The episode never actually was aired on telly was it? There’s footage of it out there now, but it didn’t get shown as part of the regular run of the show because people realised there was a massive problem with it.

Haven’t watched it yet and would like to so haven’t RTFT but the kids ages 8,9,11 & 12 want to watch it - how unsuitable would it be?

I had always thought the phone a friend would be sitting in some guarded hotel room but thinking about it, the production team didn't know which of the fastest finger contestants would make it through so they would have to be isolating a lot of people.
Re not being able to Google the answers - not only was the speed of pages loading not up to it, but there wasn't as much sheer information on the internet in them days - no Wikipedia for a start - so you might not have been able to find the answer anyway. I did have internet access at home though, via a shiny blue iMac.

Mammy, you’ve probably seen the clips but the episode itself was dropped. I think we’ll see all this in the drama tonight. I remember a documentary soon after examining the case and most of it was shown then, that’s probably what you’re remembering.

@puppymonkey it's probably a false memory, is it called "the Mandela effect" where people think they remember events that never happened?

Was one half of the show on? I thought it was live? Or am I misremembering again!

A documentary about it was broadcast after the court case, including most of the episode.

I was shocked to see the 'phone a friend' actually just being to the home phone with no production staff there, no asking the quizzer sister and them not even watching it.

I think they weren't watching because it wasn't actually a live show at the time? Could be wrong though, I can't find the answer online.
