So, I'm very late this (8 years it seems) but as all episodes are on iplayer, we've started series 1 tonight.

Everyone raves about it and says how fantastic it is and yes, episode 1 was ok but I think I was expecting more?

Does it ramp up so you're desperate to watch the whole series at once? Then is each new series better than the last? Or is it a programme that has been vastly overrated?

I know we've only seen an hour so far but with some programmes (Capture, Night Manager, Luther) I was gripped after half an hour...

I binged it before Christmas whilst recovering from surgery. By I'd say episode three I was completely hooked and binged it within a few days! In my defence I was largely in bed rest at that stage lol!

ChoporNot · 11/04/2020 21:45

Yes. Keep going.

BlackCatsRule88 · 11/04/2020 21:47

Thirded - keep going!

Neolara · 11/04/2020 21:48

Definitely keep going.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/04/2020 21:49

I tried to watch it and couldn't get past the second episode. Then I had some spare time and tried again, and ended up bingeing on the lot! It gets better - series 2 is where it gets really gripping but series 1 is alright once you get past the first couple of eps.

Taswama · 11/04/2020 21:49

I only discovered it at about series 3 - just tried it one evening as there was a woman on the picture on iplayer in a sea of men.
Give it a few episodes and see how you feel.

Charley50 · 11/04/2020 21:50

Personally, it's one of my favourite ever shows. You need to fully watch it though, can't MN at the same time as it's deep.

NannyR · 11/04/2020 21:52

It just gets better and better with every series - series four is brilliant. Keep going with it!

browzingss · 11/04/2020 21:55

I like series 1, think Tony Gates character and story were quite believable. Show certainly gets more far fetched later on.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/04/2020 21:58

Keep with it. It’s edge of your seat compelling. So many outstanding performances. I envy you having it all ahead of you!

Alyic · 11/04/2020 21:59

I'd watched a few episodes on tv and wondered what all the fuss was about.

Then I watched it all from the beginning, it's brilliant.

MrsJBaptiste · 11/04/2020 22:02

Definitely going to keep up with it, I just didn't know if I was missing something!

The only thing I find annoying is the character Steve who is the main Scottish guy in 'The Nest' at the moment. I like him in that but can't warm to him in Line of Duty but maybe you're not meant to?

We originally watched from series 3 Hmm soo started again last week keep at it you will/should get into it series 4 is also my favourite.

AlviesMam · 11/04/2020 22:11

I've just started it too!
I know what you mean about people saying you will be hooked etc as the first few episodes I was like hmmm not feeling it I'm on series 2 and it gets good and you will warm to Steve hehe!
Enjoy :)

Mrsjayy · 11/04/2020 22:15

Steve is teeny tiny in one I think they realised and gave him a step and kate doesn't stand right next to him Grin

Charley50 · 11/04/2020 22:15

Most of us warm to Steve after a while Grin

MrsJBaptiste · 11/04/2020 22:16

He is tiny! He doesn't look that small in The Nest!

SelfIsolationMeansMorePeppa · 11/04/2020 22:18

Keep going, I much preferred series 2 than 1. I did warm to Steve too.

devildeepbluesea · 11/04/2020 22:19

It is sooooo worth sticking with. Probably my favourite show of the past 20 years.

Dontlickthetrolley · 11/04/2020 22:21

Keep going and you need to watch it all as with each series, things from previous series become relevant. I binged watched 4 series in 11 days last year!

thenightsky · 11/04/2020 22:26

It is amazing if you stick with it. Honestly. And you do have the right to be interviewed by an officer of one rank or higher!

PaneerOfEvil · 11/04/2020 22:36

I preferred S2 and 3 to the first series so I would definitely stick with it until then.

roarfeckingroar · 11/04/2020 22:37

It's amazingly good. Keep at it.

TheEndIsBillNighy · 11/04/2020 22:39

I thought this was totally overrated, but it seems I’m in the minority. I didn’t warm to any characters and thought the acting was terrible (especially Steve!).

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 11/04/2020 22:41

Mother of god

Look fella, do your duty to the letter of the law - the letter - and watch every single one

You won't regret it 🙂
