When I was at school tennis dresses had to be princess line white pique cotton.

Lycra wasn't invented when I was at school.

I like Hazel's. That's a proper tennis dress.

I meant, oh aren't they making a 'workout' outfit. Clearly I'm miles behind - I thought tennis outfits had to be white dresses with flared skirts. Didn't someone (Venus?) get told to leave the court a few years ago for trying to wear something different on court.

We wore aertex blouses and gym shirts (and gym knickers) for lessons, but you had a white dress if you competed.

White fabric only for tennis for Wimbledon (and they try to get around it with teeny tiny hints of colour) but the other tournaments don't have the same rules.
