Has anyone watched Unorthodox on Netflix?

I loved it. Really fascinating and interesting to see inside the traditions and customs of Hasidic Jews.
It sent me down a rabbit hole googling questions afterwards.
The men’s hats are incredible.

Thanks for the suggestion of Schtisel, it is much more nuanced than Unorthodox. I love the main character.

Yes, OP, I have spent the whole night down a google rabbit hole looking for answers to many, many questions.

Interesting to read Deborah Feldman’s views on the tv interpretation of her memoirs. I’m fascinated with the major roles Jewish women play in each other’s lives. The men are indeed separate but also seem ruled by the various women ‘helpers’

I much preferred , nay loved Schtisel

As a PP said a more nuanced , intelligent and beautifully made programme

It focuses on the people , their quirks
By the end of it I was really emphasising with everyone , especially the patriarch

It’s one of the best things I have watched
