I was never a fan of Sharapova either really. Good competitor I guess but never enjoyed her playing style. I was just reading she said she wouldn't play a farewell match or tournament - so does that mean she has retired as of now or what? It didn't seem to say exactly.

To be fair to Kyrgios it is out of order to boo someone going off injured. But it is a bit rich of him saying the crowd is disrespecting him (because chucking a chair around etc is so respectful isn't it??)

But Spidey Fed said the chair throwing was ok, because you can't hurt a chair. .

It's no wonder he keeps carrying on the way he does, when people keep letting him.

I am a cynic never mentioned that before and do wonder if all these injuries/ skipping matches are just to get to the end of the probation period (The Aussie Open is outside of the ATP, and presumably so was the cup, so no ban would have been triggered, if he had really kicked off there)- maybe he just can't trust himself to behave, so just isn't bothering.

Might explain the booing.

Obviously it was the ATP cup but I'm not sure the probation period covered it (probably wrong though).

I saw something on BBC sport last night re Andy saying he may need another op - some side effect of the hip surgery or something? But he can't do it yet as they're not sure that's what's causing the issue - but it could be?? Did anyone else see this?

I was under the impression that Andy still had issues Spidey - I think it was too soon for the whole Queen's announcement, puts way too much pressure on him really. If he is coming back- I don't think the very patriotic, public glare of Queen's is the right place. It wasn't in 2018, either.

It seems odd to announce any players 4 months ahead (although I suppose tournaments do it all the time) but especially when he's been/is injured. Obviously he must have agreed to the announcement but I get what you mean Raahh.

Still, by the time Queens rolls around, Dan Evans could be a favourite for the Wimbledon title and the pressure could be off Andy!

I'm sure there must have been agreement too, Spidey, but (imo) it was not the right call. I am sure he had his reasons (maybe there is a very long lead time for printing the programmes and advertisements).

Dan was in a mid blue shirt today, which was much better than the grey one yesterday.

And frankly, if getting a sponsor means being togged up like an overgrown toddler in a sleepsuit, a la Grigor, or having to wear some of the other horrendous kits out there, Dan is not as stupid as he looks.
He's better off buying his 3 for 2 shirts from M&S (or whatever local market he is playing near that tournament)

Normally, I'd want Stefanos to win but I want the easiest opponent for Dan! Probably doesn't make too much difference either way

I had to check back in the thread to see what Karen was meant to be doing - I suspected it would be beating one of our nemesis players

That's a good win against Rublev btw - he's been having a good season so far.
