Maybe it will somehow be Saul had set that bit up as the ultimate test. And if she fails, she's back and he retires. Or he never wanted to fade into retirement, he'd rather go out with a bang(!). Or he'll reveal that he's slowly dying of some tragic yet noble disease, so it's a mercy killing really and as a bonus they might get a black box.

If I was Carrie, I'd let Saul into it. Fake his death. Get black box. Tell Yevgeny there isn't an asset after all or make up a story about there was but isn't anymore. Save the world. Saul and Carrie retire into the sunset.

Yes surely she’d be under house arrest? She’s allegedly a huge national security threat.

And Carrie would never kill Saul for a black box. Regardless of it securing world peace or whatever. No peace of information is worth that to her.

You have to suspend belief with Homeland. Carrie would have been put out to pasture years ago in reality.

AND. Moments after Saul's demise, Carrie would lose his protection and be sporting an orange jumpsuit in the clink, not inheriting an asset and zooming with Beardy. Gah.

The message in the book - said it was Evgeny’s play? Didn’t we know that already? Or that he had a scheme going on which the Russians didn’t know the extent of - which Carrie just found out about at the end?

Did anyone think the Russian - Andrei (?) sounded exactly like Yegveny? Is it the same regional Russian accent do you think?

I'll miss Carrie with her lip wobbles, mad collages of random clues and apparent inability to do anything even vaguely by the book. Ds and I have been watching it together for probably the past 4 series & I will miss that .

Just caught up with last episode. This will be her final dilemma- search for the truth at any cost or the realisation that Saul is worth more to her.

Please don't mention anything about the final episode. We've been through this before. It makes us v twitchy.
