It's on early February, I'm not sure if that's USA or the UK as well, but I think we usually get it shortly after.
Can't wait for Carries crying face to be back on my screen 😣😟

I'm glad you're here Zebra, I watch Homeland like an excitable toddler and need to your theories so I can pass them off as mine to Dh.

Maybe the Russian mole is Carrie Shock

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 19/04/2020 23:55

Is this taking us right back to season 1 when there was a mole but we never did find out who?

Saul is definitely good as is Carrie Grin

TheSpottedZebra · 20/04/2020 00:06

Grin I'm flattered Coco

But my theories are as wrong as they are numerous.

TheSpottedZebra · 20/04/2020 00:07

You've obviously told your DH my/your theory that SAUL IS GOOD ?

Cocolapew · 20/04/2020 00:16

I still think Carrie had been turned by the pesky Russians, but she is unware she has been 🤫🤔

Oh no, I make sure that he is aware that Saul is a Baddie.

Yes, it's going to hook back to the start

And perhaps it's going to be ambiguous - Saul and a Russian counterpart (now Gromov's boss?) decided many years ago, for the furtherance of both their careers, to be each other's sources. Probably going back to when USSR invaded Afghanistan and two young officers struck a battlefield deal - Saul being the prescient American who knew arming the Muj was a deal with the devil which would blight generations to come, and would need both USSR and American input to solve. They were going to be the ones to solve it, beginning by helping each other in their spying careers so they could rise to positions of influence from which they couid change how international affairs are transacted.

Perhaps Gromov and Carrie were each set up by their bosses to act exactly as they did, to do off the books stuff (how else couid US use Russian operational networks in the field?)

But neither can control other actors - Saul's efforts to keep the new President on track have been undermined by new adviser. Something similar on Russian side - that ambassador is another candidate as Saul's contact and his influence stymied too.

Need to rewatch the Ivan and Good Hair series for clues!

Gromov might have been fed into Carrie's captivity by Saul's contact to save her - just in time it seems. But why is she vulnerable to him in ways she cannot imagine? Saul definitely has inside track on those months

PennyRoyal · 20/04/2020 00:31

Unless StSaul really is a Russian?

Cocolapew · 20/04/2020 00:37

I like the fact that some of your are coming around to my way of thinking (😊 = practicing my smug look)

Oh I have a questions about Carries truck driver.

  1. How can he swan about all day taking her places, he said it was 6 hours to the airport.
  2. Is he paid by the US government as an asset or is he just someone Carrie uses knows.
  3. How come Carrie is roaming about and nobody gives her a second look,? A white woman in Western clothes surely stands out.

In the previous episode, just before they started snogging, Carrie was trying to persuade Yevgeny into a mutual assistance pact and their own private network. Presumably that's what Saul had with his Russian?

SaulBerenson · 20/04/2020 09:25

Is Saul passing information to the Russian, I thought it was the other way round? Or are they both giving each other stuff?

StSaulOfSnacks · 20/04/2020 16:54

We don't know yet. If Saul is running the russian as an asset, just one way, but who knows?

TheSpottedZebra · 26/04/2020 21:11

NO WAY is Saul a man who organises his books by colour.
Uh-uh.

Cocolapew · 26/04/2020 21:25

Carrie isn't showing even a sliver of remorse Shock

OP posts:
PennyRoyal · 26/04/2020 21:30

Will she betray Saul?

Or will Saul predict her betrayal and get to his asset (if there is one) first?

Can't believe there's only one more episode.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/04/2020 21:41

Straight to Saul's convenient RES SECTION of his bookcase....

TheSpottedZebra · 26/04/2020 21:41

RED

TheSpottedZebra · 26/04/2020 21:44

Is this our last Wall of Crazy ever in Homeland?
But the fun twist is that it's a floor version?

PennyRoyal · 26/04/2020 21:50

Proper old school spy stuff 🤓🔎📕

mizu · 26/04/2020 21:58

Whaaaat! Carrie can't kill Saul.

Aramox · 26/04/2020 21:58

Don’t do it Carrie!

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 26/04/2020 21:59

Well I don’t know about anyone else but I’m just not buying this storyline at all. They’ve jumped the shark. I’m hoping the last episode has something really good to pull this back.

Cocolapew · 26/04/2020 22:01

Uh oh. Carrie's been played.
2 hours next week.
