It's on early February, I'm not sure if that's USA or the UK as well, but I think we usually get it shortly after.
Can't wait for Carries crying face to be back on my screen 😣😟

Agree that was an amazing episode, so much tension.

StSaulOfSnacks · 08/03/2020 23:28

Makhani = Haquaani? Otherwise I don't know either.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 08/03/2020 23:55

Oh haqaani? I don’t think he would double cross. I think his son has rallied some die hard taliban who refuse to put down their weapons. How they would know where to go to shoot down the helicopter is another question. Unless they just got lucky?

PennyRoyal · 09/03/2020 09:26

Very few people knew The President was going to the mountains. To get Taliban fighters up there in time, they must have known in advance. Who told them??

It can't be Max. Surely not.

I'm think The Pres might not be dead and taken hostage and this will be Carrie's last mission, to free him and save the world again.

hairquestions2019 · 09/03/2020 09:37

Anyone else worried about Samira and Amin, still sitting in the car? Usually "you're safe I promise" bodes ill when said by Carrie. Will the brother in law find them?

Bit surprised there was only one escort helicopter for the President - and that it didn't see what happened. Particularly if it was shot down. Still, the plot demands I suppose....

Lweji · 09/03/2020 09:45

There were two presidents in the helicopter. By itself a recipe for disaster. Even the Royal family has more brains.

I think at least one will be dead or seriously wounded, considering Homeland's record.

StSaulOfSnacks · 09/03/2020 10:20

Think as Samira is in the CIA compound she's safe for now.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 09/03/2020 12:20

Who knew pres was going to the base? Saul, Wellington, did the VP know? I don’t think he did. Max knew and presumably the chopper pilots. The marine commander/boss man?

hairquestions2019 · 09/03/2020 12:39

Max looked as though he was really intending to go until he decided he couldn't leave the other two - I don't think he's behind it. And he'd have come up with a better excuse than 'I can't leave these two guys who really annoy me and think I'm lucky', wouldn't he? Maybe not.

Why would Max do such a thing - never forgiven/forgotten what happened to Fara?

Did The General know? He's quite an obvious suspect I would have thought?

Smellslikebiscuits · 09/03/2020 12:49

Not watched this yet, but so glad I’ve found other people suspicious of Saul. I’ve said he’s not to be trusted ever since Season 1, when he seemed to shrug off always failing lie detector tests...
Think I need to re-watch from the beginning and watch for the snacks!

hairquestions2019 · 09/03/2020 13:01

Yes, Saul was hamming it up a bit with his 'overcome with joy about the peace deal' act. Seemed a little naive to me - maybe he is indeed bluffing?

I've never understood the pro Saul camp on here - at times he has been very violent in interrogations, and he has a very ruthless streak. I know you have to be quite ruthless, obviously.....

Lweji · 09/03/2020 13:08

I don't think Max is behind it at all. But someone in the series might.

Lweji · 09/03/2020 13:10

Saul is fond of Carrie, so he's good.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 09/03/2020 13:18

Saul is just a big cuddly daddy bear Grin

StSaulOfSnacks · 09/03/2020 13:25

I don't think anyone here thinks Max was involved, just that others might accuse him of it, (maybe the genuine culprit will). I think we're united in our maternal/sisterly love for Max.

PennyRoyal · 09/03/2020 13:36

Saul is Halo

StSaulOfSnacks · 09/03/2020 13:59

What would Saul have to gain from killing the Pres? Assuming he's been a wrong'un from Series 1, how would this tie in?

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 09/03/2020 14:23

I think the VP has something to do with it. Not sure how as he didn’t seem to know pres was going to the base. But I suspect him. He’s a wrong’un.

Lweji · 09/03/2020 14:24

Saul is just a big cuddly daddy bear that mauls the occasional baddie, as all bears do. Grin

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 09/03/2020 15:34

Grin exactly!!

Cocolapew · 09/03/2020 16:44

Yay! More people suspicious of Saul Grin
I bet you he's a double agent 🤔

OP posts:
StSaulOfSnacks · 09/03/2020 17:27

So who else is he working for?

Cocolapew · 09/03/2020 17:30

Baddies.

OP posts:
JuanSheetIsPlenty · 09/03/2020 17:37
Grin

If I were to allow myself to believe for a second that Saul wasn’t all that we are led to believe, (that’s as far as i’ll go Grin) I might guess that he and beardy Russian made some sort of agreement to use Carrie to get G’ulom to play ball. Saul knowing the way she works and the existing relationship between her and G’ulom knew she was the key to manipulating him. In exchange for sharing information or securing access to G’ulom for beardy Russian he agreed to her release. I’m expecting Carrie to discover this info at some point (probably revealed by beardy to prove to her she can’t trust Saul) and feel utterly betrayed. As will we all. Grin

But Saul is good. Grin

WomanIsTaken · 09/03/2020 18:33

Sorry, of course it's Haqqani and not Maqqani Blush
I am hoping, probably against the odds, for a feel good ending, with all loose ends tied up, no nasty surprises, and all goodies remaining good to the end.
