Sorry if there’s already a thread on this but I couldn’t find one.

Anyone else excited about this? I’m really looking forward to it, especially after seeing the trailer yesterday! There were no kids in the trailer though (unless I missed them) so not sure what’s happened to Neil the baby and Stacey’s bump! Apparently Uncle Bryn is hosting Christmas this year....

It's not a classic like the last one which I watch every year dont feel like it'll be a must watch xmas special tradition

I've watched the original G&S Christmas special twice this year and thoroughly enjoyed it both times...

This one, not so much. I can't put my finger on it. Bits were good but a bit underwhelming as a whole.

It was good. I was expecting to be disappointed but I wasn't. James Cordon May not be everyone's cup of tea but his a great writer with Ruth Jones. A good double act. Very talented pair.

Well I enjoyed that, even if though I did have to pause it several times to deal with a vomiting child.

Loved the little call back where Neil the baby had wrapped his parents Christmas present in tinfoil.

Loved it. Hope they make a new series. I need to know if Smithy will say yes.

Would smithy marry her though?
I think he would.

Loved it but not enough Pamlarrr for my liking. She's always been my favourite character.

Neil the baby was great.

They've all aged so well. Jason was the only one that looked different.

We'll never find out about the fishing trip Hmm

I also loved that Bryn was wearing the Greece T-shirt he had made when Gavin and Stacey came back from their honeymoon to cook dinner in!

Did anyone else think Nessa was a bit forced this time? Ruth Jones always sounded very natural previously but this time it was as though everything she said was overly ‘Nessafied’

Is there another episode over Christmas?

No, that's it.

Wept at the end. Utterly brilliant.

Oh I wonder if there will be more after that ending!!!

Anyone else think smithy just didn't feel like smithy?
Not sure but there was something up with him, maybe it has something to do with Corden being in America now Blush

@Dogleg yes, she was too reliant on previous catch phrases. But I think I read they wrote it in an afternoon.

I absolutely loved it I did.
But yes julie I’m not sure if it’s weight loss, the tan or if he’s had subtle work done but he looks Hollywood. The others (except Dawn- oh my Christ!) all just look older versions of themselves.
The towels. The services chat. The calypos. Bloody brilliant.

I think Smithy was different because of Sonia. Plus he was in the background a bit more to give the others centre stage I think.

I loved it, I had high hopes truth be told but it didn't let me down. Never has, never will.

They all probably went to the nearest spa / beauty salon the minute they heard about a reunion! I know I would! Lol 😂
