Sorry if there’s already a thread on this but I couldn’t find one.

Anyone else excited about this? I’m really looking forward to it, especially after seeing the trailer yesterday! There were no kids in the trailer though (unless I missed them) so not sure what’s happened to Neil the baby and Stacey’s bump! Apparently Uncle Bryn is hosting Christmas this year....

Loved it!

'Egg and cress, Ness' Grin

All the conversation about motorway service stations, just brilliant.

They have to make another one now surely?

Its hard with sit coms having everyone in one place! Porridge must have been easy to write as they were all in prison together or if it's set in a house ( for example)
Always amazes me how fast they whizz around from Essex to Wales. It's a long drive!

I do.

You do seem to be taking it quite personally though. You understand that I’m criticising a TV programme, not you?

It's called having different opinions. If anyone can't deal with that they shouldn't be posting on an online forum.

Goodness, some posters on this thread have no business watching comedy at all, totally wasted on them ShockGrin

Not really, but well done on trying to make me look silly. I was a massive fan. But their story died on its arse in this episode. If the writing had been better, perhaps that wouldn’t have happened. If characters don’t develop they drag down the plot. Which happened here.

I just don’t give a shot about Gavin and Stacey

Does kind of beg the question why did you bother watching "Gavin & Stacey" then Grin

The Christmas Special is a massive disappointment. I read an article by Ruth which said they’d really struggled with a concept, and to be honest it shows. I just don’t give a shot about Gavin and Stacey or their kids. What the fuck was Smithy’s accent and his odd girlfriend, because that wasn’t even slightly funny. What was Brynn so aggressive to the omelet woman for?

The only redeeming features were Nessa, Neil the Baby who actually seem genuinely related and of course Pam and Mick.

I'm late to this thread but I have a theory that there's something up with nessa, seemed odd that she tried to give Smithy money esp as Neil the baby lives with her and then to randomly propose.

I wondered if she was ill or something and wanted to know that Neil the baby would always be well looked after....

The Sonia actress was in a similar show to The Office, about a benefits office.

I think they have been dying gavins hair for a while. In the 3rd series it looked very dark.....

Funny to watch the Bryn’s hairline grow back, with no mention of it.

Gavin’s hair is surely dyed too. It looked very odd.
I thought this too

It could be my inability to accept how long ago the 80s were that made me say she's 25!!

Report
StraightenUpAndFryRight · 03/01/2020 20:48

Wikipedia says she’s 34.

The actress who played Sonia (Laura Aikman) is 25, and probably isn't Lucy Davis's daughter!!

Report
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/01/2020 20:13

It's not Lucy Davis who plays Sonia.

Report
FlamingoAndJohn · 03/01/2020 19:58

Dawn from the office, Lucy Davis, is 46.
Although I’m sure she looks fabulous I don’t think that Sonia is 46.

Report
ConfCall · 03/01/2020 19:56

She looks a lot like Lucy Davis did when she was in The Office.

I’m confused....is Sonia not jasper carrots daughter?

Dawn from the office was/is his daughter. Maybe Sonia is his granddaughter by now?

Report
Squigean · 03/01/2020 19:46

Having just looked it up he has one daughter. Allegedly. (This may cause a huge scandal. Well huge for those still fans of Jasper Carrot ...)

Report
Squigean · 03/01/2020 19:42

Fascinating fact- the actress who played Sonia is Jasper Carrots daughter!
Ha!! I said up front she reminded me of Dawn from the office!! Wasn't too far off Smile
