Anyone else excited about this? I’m really looking forward to it, especially after seeing the trailer yesterday! There were no kids in the trailer though (unless I missed them) so not sure what’s happened to Neil the baby and Stacey’s bump! Apparently Uncle Bryn is hosting Christmas this year....

Re Nessa's age, does she not say she is 45 in series 2 episode 3 when talking to Doris (just before 18 minutes in)?

Never saw the show before the Christmas special and am now watching the previous episodes on iPlayer and this jumped out at me.

Of course there was, they said as much in previous series, that's why they keep saying 'it' was legal in some countries Bryn doesn't hate Jason, they're just really embarrassed!

I disagree, it's never been clear at all what happened in the fishing trip, gay or otherwise.

I don’t think there is an answer about what happened on the fishing trip, even the writers don’t have one, it’s just the long-running joke with no explanation.

I agree with underneaththetree -there isn't an explanation. I think I'd heard JC and RC say that before.

Watched it twice and teared up at Nessa at the end both times. Love her.

One of my favourite bits was Bryn kicking off at Gwen about the Christmas puddings. For those saying it's out of character. It's really not. It's a classic reaction to Gwen poor Gwen! I remember in the last series I got a bit annoyed with how badly Nessa treated her and then she goes and says the bit about her mum being at her wedding and it being Gwen...waaaaa! And all is forgiven!

What ages is Smithy? He's is older than Gavin isn't he?

I always thought Gavin and smithy were the same age and went to school together.

I think that what happened on the fishing trip is the same as the something nasty in the woodshed-not to be revealed!

I might be wrong, but had in my head they were different ages. Then I thought they said (in the Shipman's bathroom) about the teacher they both were taught by him "but not the same class" or something similar.

I though gav and smithy were the same age? When gav asks him to be best man in that bathroom (when smithy was asleep in the bath) they talk about being 'best mates since first year infants'

I’m watching s1 now so will look out for mentions of fishing trip

I just thoight uncle was gay the first time I saw him

Then it’s made clear that he doesn’t like his nephew who is gay

Bryn is in the closet. It’s made extremely clear through the series. One of my favourite episodes is him and Smithy in his home gym.

I don't think Bryn's sexuality is obvious at all. I'd always assumed he's Stacey's father.

I think he's affectionate with people in general, it's not obvious to me which way he swings.
