They’re talking about 4 day week as a long term proposal I believe . Probably needed as the robots come!

Inthemoment38 · 19/11/2019 20:46

@Noeuf I saw a statistic the other day that an £80k per year earner would pay just under £9 a year more tax under Labour's proposal. It's a sliding scale designed to really increase tax on the super rich, billionaires etc. Have a look into it, it may not be as bad as you think. And if you get a much more stable NHS and social care for it, it may be worth it?

Janus · 19/11/2019 20:47

Can Boris not complete a sentence without bringing up brexit. When are Tory ever known for looking after the minimum wage people??

nagynolonger · 19/11/2019 20:47

Money forest was a good one.

mummmy2017 · 19/11/2019 20:47

Free uni.
Forest of money trees.

wonderstuff · 19/11/2019 20:47

BJ repeating the same thing, he's not got Brexit done, he's not got a plan, and 'getting Brexit done' is a nonsense anyway. He's not looking good.

SouthWestmom · 19/11/2019 20:48

@Inthemoment38 thankyou, I will do that's really interesting. It sounds loads but it's two people on £40 less a personal allowance and child benefit.

longtimelurkerhelen · 19/11/2019 20:49

This is what I think too. Increased automation will mean fewer jobs available. Productivity in the country is one of the lowest in europe, yet we have the longest working hours, something is not working.

SueDoeName · 19/11/2019 20:50

Ex optician....desperate to sort his wonky specs but I really like him. He seems more sincere.

Snowy111 · 19/11/2019 20:50

Who is going to pay if people don’t have to sell their homes for nursing care etc? Will any money be available to local authorities or will they need to “absorb” it like all the other cuts?

Jux · 19/11/2019 20:50

I would very much like BJ to just answer a question without telling us how awful JC and Labour are. Just answer the question for yourself, BJ, and your party. Stop shouting over people. Answer the question then stop talking.

Lumene · 19/11/2019 20:51

JC is in favour of Brexit.

Always has been, never hidden it.

If Labour has properly campaigned against for the referendum I doubt leave would have won.

WellErrr · 19/11/2019 20:52

Omg. This is serious. What a fucking snowflake waste of a question

simonisnotme · 19/11/2019 20:52

neither of them are answering anything just talking bollocks

Re: 4 day week. Makes folk more productive and happier it seems. Don't knock until you've tried it maybe?

Jux · 19/11/2019 20:53

Longtimelurker, Wilson foresaw this in the 70s, built a load of community centres for the inevitable extra time people would have and to make it easier to keep people feeling like part of a community.

Prescient.

Of course, Thatcher ensured it didn't happen.

Inthemoment38 · 19/11/2019 20:54

@WellErrr Waste of a Q is what I just shouted at the tv too!

Whatjusthappenedthere · 19/11/2019 20:54

What a fucking stupid question.

longtimelurkerhelen · 19/11/2019 20:55

But an excellent answer from JC

simonisnotme · 19/11/2019 20:55

shes hopeless, got no guts to get them to give a straight answer

Trewser · 19/11/2019 20:56

They both look crap. Masterchef has never been more needed.

longtimelurkerhelen · 19/11/2019 20:57

@Calyx72 I read about this last year, very interesting.

Janus · 19/11/2019 20:57

Pretty dull to be honest, wish they’d had the 4 parties on rather than 2.

Jux · 19/11/2019 20:59

One thing which has come out of this for me is that Corbyn, intending to have another referendum, is not supporting either side until he knows which side his country wants him to stand on.

From my POV, this indicates he might be rather more principled than others.

MrsSiba · 19/11/2019 21:01

Julie Etchingham was awful. Didn't chair that debate at all well and allowed BJ to go on whilst weakly thanking him to stop. Hope she isn't doing any more.
