Going by the threads on MN she’ll have given her the third degree before letting her book the appointment

But didn’t Asha also confide in Liz last week when she was at Amy’s?

I was fuming at Liz, it's irrelevant that Aysha told Liz. No way should she have spoken like that in front of everyone.
In fact didn't Liz get sacked from the Doctors before for something similar ?

Yes I'm sure Moira was involved. Does Moira still work there ? I don't know anywhere that would sack you for gross misconduct, or breaching confidentiality then reemploy you.

Was it to do with blood samples? Can't remember if that involved Vic Reeves or if that was another time

She stole some of Norris's blood to see if he was Vic Reeves's father. He wasn't.

The biggest problem with Evelyn is that she's such a brilliant actress that she really shows how rubbish the rest of them are

I have always thought Corrie has the most terrible actors, just people playing themselves. Looking at you Fizz, Sean, Sinead, Ali, Amy, Tracey, Gary, Simon to name a few.

Why doesn’t Corrie invest in some quality actors there are plenty about.

With any luck they won't be investing in Sinead much longer.

The casting on Corrie has always been an issue. DD, and her partner, and several of her friends are all aspiring actors, and although I may be biased, they are very good young actors. Apart from one, none of their agents have ever managed to get them an audition for Coronation Street.

I can only imagine there's an amount of nepotism involved in casting these shows. I have no facts to back that up tho, might be an interesting Google...

Apart from the kids, some of the kids have grown up on corrie.

Sinead, Katie McGlyn, studied at Carol Godby workshop. Carol Godby also supplied: Amy, max, chez, fiz and Helen flannagan, amongst others, to Corrie.

So I reckon Corrie casting have a couple.places they cast from, Carol Godby being one.

I think Faye and Sophie are cousins in real life.

@Clawdy you are correct some of the actors you see in local productions are amazing.

Corrie consistently has not bad actors but truly dire embarrassing actors and not just one or two. It’s not a good advert for Carol Godby!

I too think there must be a large amount of nepotism involved which is a great shame for genuinely talented actors and having Maureen Lipman makes them look even worse.

The timing of Sinead’s whole cancer storyline has been really freaking me out. When she was first diagnosed it was the same week my exMIL was diagnosed with BC. When it all went quiet with sinead’s Story, exMIL was on the other side of all her treatments and all results looking good. Yesterday exMILs oncologist found another lump and today Sinead gets horrible news.

I'm not watching any more.

I watch soaps as some kind of escapism from real life. Soaps are far fetched and a bit silly, occasionally touching but they always have an unrealistic feel.

People are suffering with this storyline every day, it must be awful for anyone going through treatment or scared that their cancer may come back.

I know many storylines have real life connections but this one in particular is really hard for me to watch, so I'm out.

Moving voice overs and pictures of every one crying and the like. It's like they're trying to make as many people cry as possible.

That was slightly OTT. As if everyone in the Rovers would still be standing in total silence like that.

Seemed a bit off too her going to Ken's party dropping her bombshell and leaving. Surely shed have waited til after it

With Sophie going on maternity leave let's hope Paula vanishes as well.

That was the date that stood him up last week, Martine I think she's called.

I think there is something about soap acting that brings out the worst in actors, whether it's the way the scenes are shot, or the scripts, I don't know, but even Ian McKellan was rubbish in Corrie.

If it was ken/Rita/Audrey with cancer then I could understand the intensity of this storyline. But it’s sinead whose only been in it a few years! Hardly a cobbles stalwart! I don’t recall it being anything as dramatic when Hayley died and she was a far more established character with a huge fan base.

So Bertie will join the endless line of children who only have one biological parent living with them.....Jake, Liam,Oliver, Harry,Joseph, Max, Lily, Jack, Adi, Asha, Simon......Is it the Curse of Coronation Street!? Only Amy seems to have both parents!

Poor Max has no biological parents living at all!
