Tonight 9pm
Looks good!
Holliday Grainger is such a good actress.

OP posts:
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 21/09/2019 08:25

Maybe Shaun/Sean has knowledge of something very important that means they (MI5/CIA...) want him out of the way? Perhaps he isn't yet aware of what it is? Or maybe he is just collateral damage to whom to point the finger of blame re Hannah's murder.

peridito · 21/09/2019 09:50

humblesims - y y to Grainger as Rachel Carey channeling Gillian Anderson .

Grainger is really spoiling it for me - the pout ,the posing ,the eyes full of tears .Aaargh .

But loving it - guessing Mat having fingers pulled out was like the deep fake porn ,his head image on someone else's body .

Re the blind spot during Sean's orginal ( night of Hannah getting /not getting on bus ) ,can ppl confirm points below

seems to be a tunnel with lock ups/garages
police open them and then we see Matt's wife ( or was it Sean's ex wife ? ) being quizzed about a car
so Matt 's wife ( and Matt ? ) leant on to set Sean up ?

Lia Williams/Gemma white haired lady - what age is her character meant to be ? I was surprised at stray toy in her car indicating a pre school age daughter .

Paul Ritter/Levy/video expert - surprising he's on the loose ,still alive with his dangerous knowledge ?

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2019 09:56

Can I just say I love Paul Ritter, he manages to bring humour to everything he's in and is very good at playing the oddbod. He's marvellous in No Offence and his hapless dad in Friday Night Dinner is one of British TV's great comic characters.

Rhubarb01 · 21/09/2019 11:41

@peridito I have to agree that I didn't quite buy the kid's toy in the back of the car angle either. Lia Williams is in her mid-fifties in real life. I know it's just about possible she could have a pre-school age child and some people do at that age, but it seems a bit unlikely given the world she works in. I wondered if it was some kind of ploy to encourage Rachel to open up a bit. As someone else said, it seemed unlikely she would just talk about her family in the way she did, especially as she was a bit suspicious of the woman and thought she was a spook.

Italiangreyhound · 21/09/2019 12:39

@Rhubarb01 yes I agree the toy in the car seat was unlikely. My kids don't normally have toys in the car but the younger one does have a car seat. So if there were a toy it would be on the car seat and would almost always be in the back seat. If he were in the front, I would need to move car seat and toy to allow a passenger in! Bloody hell I am turning detective!

peridito · 21/09/2019 13:29

Mmm ,so a plant or could be step daughters ,adopted ?

peridito · 21/09/2019 13:36

And can I just mention the unusual and unlikely ( to wear IMO ) shade of green that Rachel Carey sports .

Mooncupblues · 21/09/2019 14:08

Her tears eyes really bug me

purpleme12 · 21/09/2019 20:49

I wouldn't say she looks like she's about to cry

purpleme12 · 21/09/2019 20:50

But no I wasn't expecting her to open up in the car either

peridito · 21/09/2019 21:00

I only noticed the welling eyes in the last episode ,not in every scene !

HollowTalk · 23/09/2019 23:40

I'm not up to date on this so have had to skip the last posts, but I wanted to add something about the no. 48 house.

The female detective (don't know any of their names, sorry) was looking at the house on the monitor. Her colleagues were looking at the house in real life. She could see the guy at the house, they couldn't. Why didn't she say to them, "Walk down the road and let me see if I can see you?"

Also on the bus, the camera showed the downstairs of the bus. Isn't there a camera focused on the door itself so that they could see who gets on and leaves?

ALSO why didn't they ask the soldier whether he actually saw her getting on the bus? He was all loved up and surely would have watched her get on it?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 24/09/2019 07:52

@HollowTalk, presumably Rachel asking her colleagues to walk down the road was to check to see whether the CCTV feed she was watching was live or not.

Shaun did say that Hannah got on the bus when he was being interviewed after his initial arrest.

peridito · 24/09/2019 08:29

newmodel no the point is Why didn't she ask them to walk down the road .
( more coffee before posting please Smile )

Excellent points Hollow ,guess it's all dramatic licence .

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 24/09/2019 08:31

Clearly @peridito Blush.

SoupDragon · 24/09/2019 09:01

I thought Shaun said she got on the bus when he described what had happened. I also thought he said something like "No! she got on that bus!" When viewing the footage.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 24/09/2019 09:37

I assumed she got on the bus and then whatever happened to her happened later on but all cctv footage was erased or manipulated to remove her from it.

humansympathique · 24/09/2019 10:20

Your suggestion re 48 video hollowtalk is a good one - on top of narrative licence R was having to come to terms with what appeared to be impossible contradictory information in real time under a lot of pressure. She is brilliant, but also inexperienced, doesnt know who or what to trust and as fallable and confused as anyone i guess.
Two other quickies
I was unsure whether she knew 100% the staff at the safe house were lying about the door cam and decided to keep it to herself for now
The duck-rabbit illusion. Obvs broadly suggested the mind can be tricked visually, but is it going to have a deeper explanatory resonance throughout? Just sermed a bit odd to throw it in, but i guess the video guy is a bit oddSmile

eccentricalice · 24/09/2019 17:54

Really looking forward to this tonight!!

purpleme12 · 24/09/2019 21:25

DeeDeeKayKay · 24/09/2019 21:46

eccentricalice · 24/09/2019 21:48

I'm confused too

purpleme12 · 24/09/2019 21:50

I don't know what's going on but I'm rooting for Rachel and Shaun!

Ellieboolou33 · 24/09/2019 21:52

Feels it's losing its pace a bit now and Im little confused as to what's going on.

eccentricalice · 24/09/2019 21:55

I don't get what's going on. Why is Shaun at this weird underground party
