Must confess I did wonder if Becky's father thought he might get some compensation money.

Wingedharpy · 10/10/2019 02:18

I don't think that Sian's mum was a cold fish really.
I think Siobhain Finneran played her, brilliantly IMHO, as a woman who was only just coping with her awful situation.
Sometimes, you can just about manage your own emotions but trying to deal with your own grief and someone else's (Becky's Mum's) would tip you over the edge.
Everyone is different and one person's coping strategy, wouldn't work for someone else.
They were quite different women.

I've just finished watching this. I thought the acting was fantastic, all of them.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 10/10/2019 23:51

Was an excellent programme. Terrible how Fulcher was hung out to dry but glad Halliwell was found guilty in the end. Thought it was great acting all round!

ShimmeryShiny · 11/10/2019 20:50

The programme with Trevor Macdonald that was on after the final episode I missed and can't find it on ITV player to catch up Confused

EggsFried · 11/10/2019 21:48

@ShimmeryShiny It was advertised on my TV Guide as an hour long programme with Trevor McDonald, but, unless I was missing something, it actually only lasted 30 minutes and Trevor McDonald didn't feature Confused

ShimmeryShiny · 12/10/2019 08:19

Oh. Was Steve Fulcher in it?

purpleme12 · 12/10/2019 08:25

Yes. I saw it years ago now so can't remember it in detail

EggsFried · 12/10/2019 11:31

Yes, Steve Fulcher and Karen Edwards were in it, but to me it seemed a bit rushed through and didn't show much of the real life people.

Italiangreyhound · 12/10/2019 13:07

Can anyone link to it Please?

ColonelCathcart · 14/10/2019 18:27

I read an interview where they said to say the two mothers bonded when they didn’t in real life would be too “TV”. I’m glad they didn’t show this, they’re right that you can’t force friendship or bonding etc. Also what Elaine said about Becky and the prostitution etc. Yes it’s unpalatable but if it’s what she thought it should be in the programme. And sadly lots of people do still think like that. I don’t think we improve things by pretending they don’t.

What's with Sian's mum's husband, Pete? Seems really creepy and controlling to me - I actually thought it was going to have been him that killed her

He's soooooooooooo creepy. i just finished watching the series last night. I thought he was going to be revealed to be a serial killer himself

WineOrGinOrBoth · 25/10/2019 21:29

I’ve just watched this - harrowing. But I do wonder at some of the way the characters were portrayed & how they feel about it.

aggitatedstate · 25/10/2019 21:30

There is a real life quick documentary running on ITV at the moment, worth a watch for sure!!!

WineOrGinOrBoth · 26/10/2019 11:58

Thank you @aggitatedstate - I’ll download to watch.
