My OH has known of my Theo obsession for years. I noticed him in Downton and my love for him was confirmed after watching Divergent. I'm loving seeing him on the TV every Sunday.

New to the thread but I've been watching Sanditon all the way through.

Austen it ain't. It's not even particularly good drama but it has given me a few unintentional laughs so there is that.

I want a French and Saunders style parody of this for Christmas. Scenes must include the 'coach chase' in which Sidney - played by Jennifer Saunders of course - misses the other coach during his leap, falls in the mud, gets back up and eventually catches up to the carriage. After punching the coachman in the face he pulls open the door only to find out that it's occupants are a terrified Elderly Lady and her pet parrot. Oops, wrong coach, sorry. Dawn French will be Charlotte of course. Imagine the boat scene.

The Vicar must only speak in sexual euphemisms and Lady Denham must be resurrected every two minutes, naturally.

Seriously though, I don't like any of the main character men in this. Except for Stringer who is lovely. If I had to pick though, I'd probably pick Arthur - he's a good laugh and he wouldn't complain if you needed to put your feet up after a long day.

Sidney is horrible and rude and Edward looks like he's got syphilis. Maybe Sidney has syphilis and that's why he is so grumpy?

I have been loving this series and will be sad when it ends. It has seen me through some tough / sad times.

I'm hoping / guessing for Charlotte and Sidney go for a walk along the cliff where they reveal their feelings for each other.

Charlotte then confides in Miss Lamb who tells her a previous attachment of Sidney's in the Indies.

Charlotte then allows Mr Stringer (the younger) to get close at the ball which prompts Sidney to propose.

Mr Stringer (the younger) dies, hence the funeral which is well do enough if Esther is in black - but not apparently I think full mourning.

Out of respect Charlotte and Sidney can't marry in this episode. (not sure her family make another appearance).

Here's hoping for a happy ending for Charlotte and Sidney.

(I am in Team Sidney obviously).

I must add this is not all guess work - there are teasers on twitter - plus some lovely pictures someone has drawn of Sidney and Charlotte.

I just rewatched the earlier episodes and Esther wears the same black outfit in one of them. Therefore I don't think she is in mourning. So basically anyone could die.

Cant wait for tonights episode, I dont think it will get another series, Im not sure it would work. And yes this thread has been good. I also loved the chatter on the Ghosts thread which had a good deal of Ben Willabond appreciation.

There’s also a promotional photo of Charlotte looking sad at a carriage. The suggestion is that Sidney is leaving. I think itv is teasing though and she’s watching Stringer depart for his new prospects after he’s confessed his feelings.

I refuse to believe otherwise and will stick my fingers in my ears and sing loudly at any other suggestion!

Roll on 9pm. I must get a life tomorrow...

There's now a trailer out where Sidney's proposal at the ball is interrupted by Edward storming in. I can't bare this!!

Yes it's an incredible reveal. It's not ruining my enjoyment though!

I’m not invested because it’s been so poor, despite some of the actors being good. Andrew D is to blame!

I really hope Stringer disappears off to That London and leaves them all to it to star in a spin off called Hat & Hatability where he achieves his dream of becoming an architect and pioneers a whole new architectural trend of hat shaped houses

And finds a woman or man who properly appreciates his jawline, amazing smile & general loveliness
