Man bun was a better Baker than Jamie, and Jamie knew it!

Sexnotgender · 27/08/2019 21:29

Thanks Sanfran, he definitely wasn’t the worst!

Bagadverts · 27/08/2019 21:30

Really thought should have been Jamie. Now even younger crowd.

ControversialFerret · 27/08/2019 21:30

Right off to bed, see you all next week

Sexnotgender · 27/08/2019 21:30

Jamie’s technical was appalling and his showstopper quite poor.

bookbook · 27/08/2019 21:31

see you all next week !
night Ferret :)

FenellaMaxwell · 27/08/2019 21:31

Damn. I liked Man Bun!

PrincessScarlett · 27/08/2019 21:32

Jamie has been kept in for "comedy" value. He was by far the worst baker.

Xmasbaby11 · 27/08/2019 21:39

Jamie should have left. He didn't do well and was totally out of his depth. I feel sorry for him. He's probably dreading next week!

Blueoasis · 27/08/2019 21:45

It's bugging me on the fact that I feel like I recognise so many of the bakers from TV already. I swear I've seen yan before somewhere, and there's a couple of the others I recognise too. It's not even from seeing them before this started as I didn't look at the contestants til now.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2019 21:50

Alice had scoliosis as a child and an op at 15. It's a bloody horrible thing and that's when she took up baking So the girl must have some grit.

EntirelyAnonymised · 27/08/2019 21:51

Jamie was rubbish but endearing. Man bun was rubbish and beige personality wise.

Smug snake cake is going to get on my tits.
I like clumsy Michael, Amelia & the geography teacher.
The rest I need to get a feel for.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2019 21:53

Also, did we all notice Alice had made angel cake in her Geography teacher clip?

Although it cracked me up that they said: ' Alice works in a school in Central London where she teaches Geography', rather than 'Alice is a geography teacher'

iklboo · 27/08/2019 21:56

Hmmm. I'm not sure. DH & DS talked all over the bloody thing. Angry. They're barred next week.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/08/2019 21:57

Grin at them sniggering over 'fairy garden'.

We're watching it with DD (14). She had no idea why they were laughing. I reminded her of the times her dad called across a busy supermarket to ask if she wanted any fairy hammocks, then she got it. :)

Blueoasis · 27/08/2019 22:08

Now I know why, I'm watching the wrong fucking one! Ugh Blush stupid me and stupid channel 4

AppleKatie · 27/08/2019 22:31

It’s good, as ever.

But I can’t quite get on board with how young they are. The joy is usually in the generational mix.

blighter · 27/08/2019 22:48

team henry here. my dd went to school with him. he's a lovely fella

RedForShort · 27/08/2019 23:33

Jamie reminds me of one of my cousins, he's a lovely guy, totally over-enthusiastic and a little delude (I'm not SanFranBear's exDH promise!!).

I'm impressed so many people know names (I only figured out who Jamie was due to everyone saying he's rubbish!) Which one's Henry?

BalloonSlayer · 28/08/2019 08:49

I thought Jamie ought to have left but predicted it would not be him to go as he is so young - they don't want to discourage younger applicants and viewers. So poor Dan got the chop. Sad

EntirelyAnonymised · 28/08/2019 08:57

Red, Henry is the church singing Durham student. Made the intricate sugar house that collapsed when he picked it up.

Anotherusefulname · 28/08/2019 09:07

I didn't warm to any of them, I was glad the hairy man went, mainly because I just spent the whole time wanting to tell him to get a haircut. I imagine I'll give next week a go but if I still haven't warmed to them won't bother.
I can't believe it has been going 10 years, I only watched the first series (I tried but can't watch Mary Berry, I think she is awful - I can't find one redeeming feature) and since it moved to channel 4 which has been much better all round.

TSSDNCOP · 28/08/2019 09:15

Jamie will go next. He won’t be able to untangle the technicals and hasn’t got the range to nail a showstopper.

I disliked the twee, so the snake-cake was my winner even though it takes an odd mind to include the egg and baby snakes.

Michelle and the man in glasses are going to irritate the tits off me if they keep clinging to each other when the results are called.

I liked the Lorry Driver. I have high hopes for him in Pie Week.

5foot5 · 28/08/2019 09:29

Well that was good.

Bit disappointed the man-bun man (Dan?) went, I really liked him and it was only his first round that was a disaster. Jamie seems like a nice young lad but I thought he was worse overall and really wasted time. When he forgot to put the eggs in to his showstopper and was wondering whether to start again we were urging him to just whack them in and give it a good stir.

Can't take to the fitness fanatic who made the snake cake. Dave? Snakey Dave. He looks a bit smug to me.

So far I am in Team Henry.

TSSDNCOP · 28/08/2019 09:32

It was nerves that got Dan. He shouldn’t have listened to PH about the volume of fruit. He was pulling it back together by the showstopper.

Jamie on the other hand, could deliver a practiced fruit cake as could I, but collapsed after that. WTF forgets eggs in a cake????!
