Im wondering when its back on the telly? Have googled for an answer but no luck.. But i am useless at internet searches. And i dont buy a tv mag.

Just catching up with the first episode now (perfect Sunday afternoon tele!), the standard seems higher this year, these birthday cakes look like they'll be more impressive than last year's finale.

DD put on the first ever episode the other day and my god it’s changed so much. It was relaxed - they sat and chatted with a cuppa - and it was all about flavour and simple decoration.

I wasn’t really inspired by the first ep, and haven’t really warmed to any of the bakers. I know it’s early days so I’ll stick with it, but I do think it’s lost a bit of it’s charm. (Hollywood doesn’t help - he seems more obnoxious than usual).

Also, I preferred Extra Slice when it was 30 minutes. It feels very padded out as a longer show to me.

It was - and it was lovely.

Now it's all stuff against the clock and off-the-wall cake flavours "Dymphna is baking a kipper-and-macaroni flavoured sponge with avocado icing . . . "

It's lost the cosiness.
