Molly-Mae Hague is a 20-year-old social media influencer from Hertfordshire.

Her Instagram account can be found at @mollymaehague, where she had 150,000 followers before being announced as a Love Island cast member.

Speaking of her day job, the Love Island star said: “I feel like I’ve done really well for myself considering the small town I come from.

“I’ve moved out, got my own flat and grown my Instagram following to over 150,000 to make it my job.”

@unique1986 depending on how many followers people have they can get £10-50 grand a post if not more

Fairylea · 13/06/2019 15:12

Just watched first look. Please tell me Tommy was making a joke by saying his heads been turned 560 degrees and he doesn’t actually think a circle is 560 degrees Grin

FieldsOfWheat · 13/06/2019 15:12

I'm sorry but moving out and getting your own flat isn't an achievement...

Smotheroffive · 13/06/2019 15:13

No...the multitude of producers sharing the culpability for this show cannot hide behind any of that defence.

The kyle guy cheated yet came on the show, presumably no absolute need to. His death absolutely tragic and so too the LI suicides.

The producers are promoting very unhealthy stereotypes and manipulating these young adults horribly.

Even those of you on here enjoying the show are saying how much of that is happening. How much is being missed and only their manipulated version being shown. We cannot know what has been manipulated and therefore potentially highly mispresentative of the young adults in there.

I think these are important things to raise the profile of and the harm it does to the perpetuation of the distorted perception of the sexes.

mumto2babyboys · 13/06/2019 15:14

@unique1986
Exactly at least Maura actually is a real life model and events girl and earns money from it

She's had an insane amount of surgery but she does look like her current face on insta where as MM nope

I don't hate MM I just think she actually thinks the filtered pics she posts are what she looks like and she doesn't realise

mumto2babyboys · 13/06/2019 15:17

@Smotheroffive

We all know it's fake and scripted but come on....
They are on holiday.

The music is good and it's just finally gotten interesting

Call me shallow or a snowflake but I can't wait to see tonight's episode woohoo

and I also can't wait to find out who leaves

I'm slightly obsessed Smile

Sagradafamiliar · 13/06/2019 15:19

So you're not tuning in then smother?

unique1986 · 13/06/2019 15:19

I'm sorry but moving out and getting your own flat isn't an achievement...

Hmm it kind of is even if you earn money is shallow ways..

Fairylea · 13/06/2019 15:20

Everyone knows a lot of it is fake and manipulated. They engineer it carefully to give as much drama as they can. Half the people have more plastic in them than a Lego tub. Who cares? Seriously. There’s plenty of more serious stuff on tv if people want to watch it. Personally I love it. I’ve had a really awful year, my mum died in March and if watching some 20 somethings behave like twits for a few weeks cheers me up then I am all for that. No one can go on it now and claim they don’t know what’s going to happen or what it’s like.

unique1986 · 13/06/2019 15:20

I mean getting your own place at 20 is pretty good.

Dickybow321 · 13/06/2019 15:22

So we’re starting new threads with 3 pages to go on the existing one are we? Ok then...

That's what I thought Hmm

kmammamalto · 13/06/2019 15:22

Ohhh my! Just saw the first look for later! Totally agree with everyone else praising Anton for telling MM where to stick it. Absolutely amazing!! It's finally getting interesting!!

unique1986 · 13/06/2019 15:23

The funny thing is very pretty girls and guys do exist at the age of 20 - 28 with no surgery at all!
Or going to the gym.
They might be a size 10 or even 12.. So what

ILoveYou3000 · 13/06/2019 15:23

Smother agree about the drinking. My 16 year old has been ditched by her 'best friends' this week because she said she didn't want to drink tomorrow night (last day of school). Apparently she's boring and immature because she doesn't want to get pissed in a field. The pressure on her is ridiculous but fortunately she's got a good head on her shoulders and isn't bowing to her friends demands.

If drinking is the only way you can be fun then there's a problem. Yes it can make people relax and lower their guard, but more often than not it turns people into twats. Really, no one should need alcohol to make themselves fun.

This lot in there should have enough personality to be entertaining without getting hammered. It wouldn't hurt to have a 'party night' or something once a week, but it shouldn't be needed. They've applied to go on this show and shouldn't be there if they've not got a personality. And I don't mean they have to be loud, outgoing and gregarious, but intelligent, witty and up for a laugh would be somewhere to begin.

unique1986 · 13/06/2019 15:25

The producers should have just walked around central London or Manchester or any big city and scouted good looking natural people.

Dickybow321 · 13/06/2019 15:25

Just watched first look. Please tell me Tommy was making a joke by saying his heads been turned 560 degrees and he doesn’t actually think a circle is 560 degrees

Well a circle would mean his head is back to the first person he was looking at, so..

mumto2babyboys · 13/06/2019 15:27

@Fairylea
Awwh sorry to hear that. I lost my dad to cancer and it's awful losing a parent.

Yes LI is a great distraction Smile

Smotheroffive · 13/06/2019 15:29

Did post a reply but lost it..my screen jumps up and the search option obscures the 'post' option.

So i ended up on the search screen!

mumto2babyboys · 13/06/2019 15:31

@unique1986

Yeah they should

but lots of the girls they do ask have long term bfs and say I might go on next year

Where as the guys like tommy just dump their gf's and go on it.

Smotheroffive · 13/06/2019 15:31

Anything that leads people to demand people drink booze to be 'interesting' is on a slippery slope and wrong-thinking/dangerous attitude.

Ohnotanothernamechange · 13/06/2019 15:37

A lot of them are invited to appear by the producers. Olivia Attwood was originally approached in 2016 but decided against it, then agreed to do it in 2017. Camilla Thurlow was approached after the producers saw her Instagram profile, Dr Alex was approached after they saw an article he featured in about junior doctors. That's just the ones I know about.

From this year I'd say it's certain they approached Tommy and Curtis. Tommy due to himself being related to Tyson Fury, and Curtis was in the press after being badly beaten up when he was in a nightclub with AJ.

mumto2babyboys · 13/06/2019 15:41

@Smotheroffive

Have you ever watched first dates?
They are given alcohol before the date if they want, alcohol at the bar while waiting, alcohol during the meal and then they usually go for drinks after if they like each other

Their bill is subsidised by CH4 also but they don't have to drink and they don't have to pay for it. Some of them forget their wallet etc or pay less than half

They are on holiday and they can't go clubbing.

Should they all be sitting around reading books in the evenings? Should they be learning Spanish?
What would you have then do instead?

It has been boring until last night. I agree they need more alcohol

Smotheroffive · 13/06/2019 15:47

Sorry, cant see the relevance despite your explanations.

Its pretty poor attitude and practice by anyone thinking people should consume alcohol to be 'more entertainment' for viewers. Piss poor.

itswinetime · 13/06/2019 15:48

The producers should have just walked around central London or Manchester or any big city and scouted good looking natural people.

Now I'm way past the age range of people that would go on that show and maybe I'm out of touch. But the point remains how many natural looking average people actually want to be on the show. Knowing what I know about the show 22 year old me wouldn't have nor would any of my friends we grew up with big brother and alike and none of us even for a second wanted to go on the show or others like it maybe times have changed but I don't think it's the kind of thing that appeals to just anyone.

Anything that leads people to demand people drink booze to be 'interesting' is on a slippery slope and wrong-thinking/dangerous attitude.

I do agree but I'm not sure the show has promoted that when things get dull they send someone new in or a surprise dumping challenge ect they have never that I am aware thrown extra alcohol in. That was the (I think light hearted if not thought out) suggestion of a poster.
