I agree about portraying young men and women as only being those they stereotypically 'picked' for this series.

No gay, or normal shapes, looks, or regular actual people, which they then subject to horrible manipulation.

If they cared about post kyle, they'd have shelved further shows [being as they had two suicides].

Its quite telling when viewers want people to be drinking cos otherwise they're 'boring'!!! People are really this cruel in RL too, no wonder at the results of all this pressure.

Thing is, normal "regular" people don't want to strut around with their bum and underboobs out, argue and have sex on a national TV show and share a bedroom with 10 other people. It's going to attract attention-seeking looks-obsessed people, that's the whole premise of the show - they want the Instagram contracts afterwards. These people want to be famous, and part of being famous is dealing with criticism.

Yes it's not great values or particularly high-brow entertainment, but they are there of their own free will, and the public enjoy it...

Jeremy Kyle was completely different. Appalling bullying and exploitation of those who could not defend themselves. Service users targeted and then goaded and then misrepresented and then spat out to be at the mercy of the general public who would then laugh at them. It had no place in the 21st century without the death of the guest who was on it the week it was axed.

Love Island doesn't pretend to be a realistic dating show, the contestants who are scouted for it usually have a name for themselves and are in a position of privilege in countless ways JK guests were not and never would be. Suicide rates are high in this country. Neither Sophie's nor Mike's were as a direct result of the show, but a tragic coincidence links them both to it.

Michael can handle Amber, I think they're a great couple.

I LOVE that Anton told MM that she'd made her bed and could lie in it. He was spot on and could totally see what she was up to.

They actually pick clones of the past contestants every single year so that argument has been done to death

The show has a specific format for what they are looking for and what couples the public will want to see match up

Curtis does not have the perfect body and I don't mean that in a cruel way but compared to the rest of them he just doesn't

Anna is supposed to be the plus sized girl... but she is beautiful and not even slightly overweight so they haven't put in a plus sized girl yet again

but Curtis is not (super low body fat protein shakes only) like the other guys and he is in

I also just cannot be convinced that Curtis isn't Bi

I agree to an extent it's a shame it's always the same type or people even in the early seasons you never saw a range of people on the show they were all pretty much a type. But this format is only going to appeal to a certain type of people I think. Both in terms of body shape and personality. The problem is by series 5 we have seen all of those types so now it just feels like a repeat everyone is compare to people from previous years.

I'm not sure it's the shows fault the only way to know that would be to see who applied then you could know if it's the picking or the applications that's the problem.

Amber - love her but she comes across as one of these girls who feel they don't have to make any effort at all due to their looks. I think Michael will blow her off for someone else if she doesn't sort it soon.

Amy - her true colours are coming out. She's one flight short of enough points for an upgrade.

MM - how annoying is she? WTF is a Social Media Influencer? She is a really bad role model. Her photos are very different to the reality and young, impressionable girls will look at them and aspire to be like that when it is an optical illusion. She is a Social Media Bad influence.

Lucie - please get some Elasticiser on those ends.

Anna - lovely and fab curves. Are those lips real though?

Yewande - lovely and genuine. Hope she finds someone who appreciates her.

The boys - love Michael, Anton is annoying and has annoying designer eyebrows, Curtis is a sh!t stirrer and a politician, Tommy walks like a gorilla, Danny is quite nice but loves himself and his pants are too short, Joe I quite like and think he is getting a bad rap. I think he was majorly gutted losing Lucie and held it in well. Sherif - meh and Anna can do so much better.

Looking forward to tonight and I'd love the new Irish girl to put MM back in her box.

Haha yes those extensions are crying out for some elasticiser.
Love Anna but she shouldn't be the poster girl for curves as hers are all fake. She's had the Instabody honed under the surgeons knife, it's the stomach and hips which give it away (if not the bum)

That's true I'm not saying the show is perfect but again I guess we don't know who the contact and ask to go on. I just think the format of this show but to be honest all reality tv these days only appeals to a certain type of person.

Anna's curves (and lips) are definitely fake - no-one has such a curvy bum/thighs and then a completely flat stomach.

But in fairness to him he hasn't got funny or possessive when they either move on to someone else or another guy shows interest that's the difference. He isn't criticising her get to know everyone his saying it's unfair on Tommy to go mental when he does the same!

Lucie also did a transformation thing from a size 12-8 before going on it this year

They contacted Olivia from 2017 too and begged her to go on and she said she would wait a year and dani last year's winner didn't apply she was set to go on after getting injured on her first itv show
