I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

OP posts:
Frillyfarmer · 26/06/2019 20:52

I missed the mugging - why is Tracey being shifty?!

Peitho · 26/06/2019 20:54

I missed the mugging too. Was it engineered by Geoff?

Yasmeen is going to develop agoraphobia isn't she, aided and abetted by the newly evil Geoff.

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/06/2019 20:59

I saw the mugging, and my DH straight away said he thought that Geoff had engineered it. We didn't actually see if he did.

Deadringer · 26/06/2019 21:53

It popped into my head that Geoff might have organized it, then I thought nah, too ridiculous. It seemed opportunistic, but now I am not so sure. Geoff is going to terrorise Yasmine isn't he, in order to control her. Awful.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 26/06/2019 22:09

Geoff is seriously creepy.

If he did organise the mugging what was the reason? To punish her for getting drunk the night before? Seems a bit of stretch to go from wanting to punish her to “I know, i’ll Arrange to have her mugged”.

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/06/2019 22:16

I don't think it's about punishment. It's about control.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 26/06/2019 22:31

It’s a massive leap though from what he has been doing so far to this. For no apparent reason. I know he is sneakily exerting control in lots of ways but to arrange a mugging is just plain bonkers.

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/06/2019 22:36

But he might not have arranged it. I think it just shows how little we think of him.
He actually makes my skin crawl.

Peitho · 26/06/2019 22:41

He may not have arranged the mugging but he'll capitalise on it.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 26/06/2019 22:45

Yes he’s skin crawly for sure. I don’t think he organised the mugging. I just can’t see why he would. But yes he definitely will use it to his advantage. Poor Yasmeen!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 27/06/2019 07:41

Geoff's storyline is really odd. He came into it as happy go lucky radio DJ and Audrey's friend. Bit of joker and one of those guys that gets lots of eye rolls but he was harmless enough.
He gets with Yasmeen and a few little things point to a controlling nature but nothing obvious. Then suddenly, almost over night, he's become a panto villain.
It's like someone turned up a dial from 3, a bit creepy and off, up to 15, full on top hat, cloak and tying Yasmeen to the rail tracks.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/06/2019 09:39

It’s typical of Corrie at the minute tbf. They just decide they’re doing a story and it is done and dusted in a week. No time to build it up, allow natural development. No consideration for what would happen irl.

Btw I found Gary’s behaviour to Sarah last night really out of character. Unless he is on drugs? Has that been hinted at? When he was talking to her beside Devs shop he was all twitchy and aggressive. I know he is a prick anyway but it was particularly weird last night.

Bluerussian · 27/06/2019 09:46

It never occurred to me that Geoff might have engineered Yasmeen's mugging. When I saw him at the end, watching her, I assumed he had just followed her to keep an eye on her as she was so nervous after the mugging.

Well I never! I suppose he could be guilty but why he would suddenly change like that, I don't know. What would be his motive? Yasmeen is a nice lady.

I've never found Geoff creepy, thought he was fine. His son and granddaughter are lovely.

ajandjjmum · 27/06/2019 13:31

Consistency of character is not a Corrie strength.

Clawdy · 27/06/2019 20:18

He can't have organised the mugging. At the last minute Aliya asked Yasmeen to take the money to the bank, in quite a loud voice (just as you wouldn't! ). There was a young guy listening, and he was obviously going to follow her. Geoff is using the situation to control her though.

ellenanora5 · 27/06/2019 23:10

I don't think Geoff organised the mugger but he'll certainly use it to keep Yasmeen at home.

I really couldn't care less about Michelle and Roberts wedding.

I think Gary is slowly having a break down, I wish he'd leave.

Deadringer · 28/06/2019 08:35

Yes I think Gary is cracking up. I hope they don't take the Geoff thing too far they will and go full on panto villian. And how could Robert possibly think he can hide a baby from one woman and a marriage from the other, especially with social media, and given the fact that he runs a restaurant with his wife that the other 'woman' or her son can pop into at any time.

Thesuzle · 28/06/2019 09:42

I keep watching but Corrie is driving me nuts..
They have low paid jobs but are always in the cafe and the pub.
The children are always elsewhere ..
No one has a normal steady life with the odd bit of family stuff.. like the rest of us..
The whole street has or will have been in prison at some point , or suffer a mental breakdown..
My aged mother has given up on it. It’s just too bonkers at times

And as for Quads. AAAARRRGH saw that one coming a mile off

eddiemairswife · 28/06/2019 13:04

I can't see where they can go with the quads story. Are they going to find 4 newborns to 'star' as the babies initially, and then send them all to the Street's invisible babysitter? Or will we have a distressing story where a couple of them will die? Twins would have been far more realistic.

Twotome · 28/06/2019 13:21

Chesney was on This Morning and he said he thinks they will get multiples babies in to play the quads so thinking they will all survive (the birth atleast)

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 28/06/2019 13:29

Of all the couples to give 4 babies to ches and Gemma would be last on my list.

WeWantSweet · 28/06/2019 20:29

No reasons to restart recording the Corrie Omnibus yet then, sadly.

PrincessScarlett · 28/06/2019 21:57

I found it quite upsetting watching Geoff's manipulation of Yasmeen tonight. He's definitely more obvious now.

nildesparandum · 28/06/2019 21:58

Fully agree with you Thesuzle

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 28/06/2019 22:06

I’m finding the Geoff storyline really frustrating to be honest. All of a sudden Geoff is obsessed with keeping Yasmeen in the house. For no reason. (Yes I know it’s a control/abuse storyline- but the character has no reason that he is justifying it to himself with) It’s so unrealistic. Two days ago he had not a care in the world about her leaving the house. It doesn’t happen like that. And I’ve seen it enough times to know.
