So much for willpower and saving the last three episodes for Sunday night......
Things that floored me
MIchaels long speech, the melt me like butter one, it was more tHan he's said in all three series! Possibly in his entire life.
Jason who I was beginning to loathe a a bit made me reconsider when he broke down and cried - he is young and still grieving and he'll probably always be a bit of a twat, but I think Kelly will sort him out since she seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds emotionally, though she will never join Mensa even if she does learn to speak Chinese while the baby is sleeping. Was there a dictionary for her to eat in her emergency food back pack she was coming out with long words quite appropriately. Incidentally I love that Jason is a feminist, yes , the sort who want to protect women are the best Jase!
Thought the scene with Maureen and Kathy when Maureen couldn't bring herself to speak was so sad, I agree with others that what we learned about Dave doesn't make him seem like a nice character, but he was Maureen's boy, and it hurts. So clever how a character we never met impinged so much on the story .
Reg is a poppet, foul mouthed and odd but fundamentally a kind person, I think he and Pauline might get closer, they have a lot of similar views.
Amazing series, really got under my skin. I will have to rewatch from the beginning.
Two degrees of separation boast, I was out with a friend today who went to the same primary school as Lesley Manville, and they lived in the same road. Preens in unwarranted and imaginary reflected glory.
