My heart is breaking already Sad

I think this is going to be brilliant- I love Stephen Graham.

Agree bakedbeanz there is definitely something about him! He is just so compelling to watch, the scene in the pub was so realistic.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 18/05/2019 10:07

I also find him quite sexy personally 😊

Me too! It’s all that talent. Very sexy.

mizu · 18/05/2019 10:17

Watched last night. Phew, that pub scene Shock I could barely watch it. I will definitely continue watching as really great acting. He is SO watchable. Did like the scene with Sinbad.

bakedbeanzontoast · 18/05/2019 17:52

Glad it's not just me 😏

nowifi · 18/05/2019 22:01

I watched too, thought it was quietly gripping and realistic too. Even the scene where he wakes up with sick all over him felt real!

groundcontroltomontydon · 18/05/2019 22:45

Definitely not easy viewing - I did more ugly crying than Stephen Graham.
But he should have railed and sailed.

AuntMarch · 19/05/2019 21:02

The camera work for the rest of his night after leaving the pub made me feel sick and disoriented- but I don't think that's coincidence, great directing, we weren't meant to be comfortable.

Did a little cheer when the cider went in the bin.

WhatTimeIsItCuckoo · 20/05/2019 15:22

I've just watched it now, couldn't wait as our TV was on the blink last week! Loved it but very tough to watch, had to keep pausing it for a little break 😬 Love SG and can totally see the sexy thing too. Now have to go off to school after sitting here weeping - not good. Re Shane Meadows, I'm certain I read that this story is semi-autobiographical, it's going to be heartbreaking, that for sure 😔

AlessandroVasectomi · 21/05/2019 14:33

I know nothing about Shane Meadows, so it was just a straight watch for me and I enjoyed it. I like dramas that make me sad and this one makes me so glad that my parents made sure I followed the straight and narrow.

The bit that made me well up was when the Stephen Graham character was cuddling his son. My Dad was a big strong man and cuddling him like that when I was little made me feel so safe and secure. That was a long time ago - I’m 68 now.

Weegobshite · 21/05/2019 14:52

@Nat6999 you used to live where I live now (unless you meant Park Hill/Hyde Park?). Few bits filmed on our path - cos we aren't well off enough to have our front/only door on a real road. I was at a graduation ceremony a few years ago when Shane Meadows was awarded Honaray Degree of Doctor of Arts; very humble.

Nat6999 · 21/05/2019 16:56

Weegobshite I lived on Low Edges estate, was weird watching something & seeing the estate we used to live on.

Weegobshite · 21/05/2019 22:49

Nat6999 it's odd seeing your own house on TV isn't it! I'm the other side of Leighton. Not far from the pigeon-hut houses used; think it was milky's mother's!

AuntieMarys · 22/05/2019 04:25

It was magnificent. I think he is so talented. And he liked my tweet Smile
He was great in Boardwalk Empire as Al Capone

colouringinpro · 22/05/2019 20:16

Anyone watching tonight? Trying to psych myself up for excellent but seriously bleak TV...

ILoveMaxiBondi · 22/05/2019 20:28

Me too colouring. I’m not feeling too well this evening and am wondering if I can cope with the mental energy it will take to watch tonight! Grin

colouringinpro · 22/05/2019 20:54

Yes, mental energy is right! But I think if i don't, I never will...

ILoveMaxiBondi · 22/05/2019 21:10

Jesus, I’m in tears already. Sad

ASauvignonADay · 22/05/2019 21:15

Omg, me too 😭

zenasfuck · 22/05/2019 21:30

This is so hard to watch. SG is phenomenal

colouringinpro · 22/05/2019 21:43

Totally convincing Sad

ILoveMaxiBondi · 22/05/2019 21:44

Oh that was a funny scene with Dinah and Anna Grin poor Dinah!

Was a bit weird the way they sent their kids down to cheer on the boxing match on their drive!

Dulra · 22/05/2019 22:04

Brilliant! Grim gripping edgy close to tears one minute and squirming the next. Stephen graham is fantastic

CallyMollyMindy · 22/05/2019 22:05

What's the story with Joe and the building site guy who recognised him?

UCOinanOCG · 22/05/2019 22:06

I am loving this. There is nothing easy about it though.

Dulra · 22/05/2019 22:10

CallyMollyMindy assume he was a boy in the children's home and remembers joe. He said he remembers him there one minute and gone the next. He's broken too no doubt more about what happened them at the homr will start to come out Sad
