I wish Ireland would send a song into the Eurovision that was sung in Irish. We used to and we still could but we just need someone to write a half decent song/lyric that someone with a decent voice.

We've always thought that we should enter with this song - but in Welsh, to give us a better chance of getting away with it

Eurovision broke MN and BBC4!

Well 2/5 I wanted to get through made it - I squealed when they announced Serhat, most surprised - love the fella but he was flat as a pancake.
I liked Belgian boy but his performance wasn't there tonight.
And alas, weirdo Portugal not through, even though I think only one other person liked it on here.

Do they still do the Junior Eurovision? They used to show it on BBC3 before that was scrapped, but stopped owing to low viewer interest.

The bits I remember seeing, they were way better than the main one - actually genuinely talented. Just as well, really, because otherwise you'd feel such a terrible person jeering at critically reviewing kids.

Collectively we predicted 7 out of the 10 finalists correctly (we had Hungary, Georgia and Poland through rather than Slovenia, Belarus and San Marino)

Isn’t junior Eurovision at a different time of year? In the autumn?

but actually really happy with their weird bondage but very well done performance

San Marino were the big shock for me, along with Belgium not making it though I agree his performance was lacking tonight.

Today is Yom Shishli so the next semifinal is on Yom Chamishi (transliterations, and autocorrects caused by them, may vary!)

Can't believe San Marino (wtf?) and Czech Rep (wtf?) are through and not Poland or Belgium

Dustin the Turkey is my mother's main argument against referendums. The only time I ever heard her say the F word was on the topic of that Eurovision.

I think Ireland only ever had one song in Irish.

I managed to get to Vienna in 2015, largely affordable because I had friends there.
