We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Oh my. Very well defined, but the blurring of the tattoo makes it look like a hairy back, prob blurred in the same way knives are as can’t believe anyone wanting to act would have a tatt that big, given the kdrama predilection for shower scenes.

This is so twisty, I’m now completely gripped. There are all sorts of shady goings on, up is down, good guys are bad guys etc. It’s pretty grimy, but also oddly compelling. Plus, JKH pulling yet another classy performance out of the bag. I really rate him, particularly after the romcom where he showed how funny he could be too. He gets cast in a lot of serious/heavy weight roles, so it was good to see some levity.

Gahhhh! Psychometric... EP 15 up! Going to wait till tomorrow! And watch WHOLE LOT! 👍 👍 👍.... Must resist!! 😂

Got halfway through ep 15 of Psychometric and found myself zoning out so went in search of frivolity and - good news! Jung Kyung-Ho should be back on our screens soon!

I have an unscientific theory that the kdrama actors that are either a bit short or not outstandingly good-looking/famous either get married & have kids (Jang Hyuk, Ji Sung, Jo Jung Suk) or have long-term gorgeous model/singer girlfriends (Namgoong Min, Jung Kyung-Ho) while the top top ones can't either due to pressures of time or scary fans like in Her Private Life (Grr JCW, Toasty LYS, PSJ, CJH)

I think they're all gorgeous, and as I am short and easily swayed by a twinkly eye/good performance my top 5 keeps changing

Also because dating or doing anything in public is very difficult, it leads to very close friendships within peer groups eg Toasty LYS & Kim Won Bin, PSJ & the Hwarang guys, the whole of BTS

And of course Ji Soo and Nam Joo Hyuk

Life on Mars done! I so enjoy watching JKH that i'm now dithering between rewatching bits of Prison Playbook or hunting out other stuff from his IMDB list. I'm going to leave Heartless City for the moment as I need a break from cop stuff. Need some fluff.

Sky Castle is now on Netflix & Viki and has had great reviews, has anyone seen it?

I started watching Sky Castle at the weekend but the adult characters are all unutterably vile. The only bit which piqued my interest enough to go back was the scene where the older teen who has just got into uni & is about to head off backpacking for a month unlocks his laptop and leaves it somewhere obvious. I’m dying to know what beans are going to be spilled when his overbearing parents start snooping.

I get the impression that Sky Castle builds up, the buzz about it seemed to increase as the series went on.

I have found a series called Missing Nine with JKH which on first impressions looks like Lost. Also dipping in to Are You Human?

Gah! Kill it! Ep 6 has just made me really sit up and take notice!... And... EP 7 available in 2 days.?? Arggh!
