Annoying bbc and itv have dramas at same time in same night but might watch this +1

A woman widowed 3yrs ago when husband supposedly died in a plane crash , and then she suspects he’s potentially alive ......

6 part drama

I knew she was going to try and find her mum

Honeyroar · 23/04/2019 22:06

I’m enjoying it, but it does seem to drag on, and the dodgy situations they manage to get out of make it ridiculous!

Sad that the blind man died (apparently).

Shenanagins · 23/04/2019 22:09

Hmm, still can’t figure out why Will has been kept alive for all these years unless he’s the big boss?

SheeshKebab · 23/04/2019 22:14

It's just annoying me now, I just want to know what happened without watching TWO more bloody episodes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2019 23:02

I’m hoping Ariel is alive

I don’t think JUDITH did know but why did peter say gut the bitch. Assume he meant her

The blonde bit with violet puzzles me. But was a dream

Was it meant to be will tied up in her dream

Right, I reckon that Will is as dodgy as they come. He's a bigger cheese than Bello. The first 5 episodes have implied he's been held hostage.

Tonight it was very telling when Sidney laughed about them looking for Will and how if they had said that in the beginning they would have not wasted all this time. The General and Sidney have been bumping off anyone connected to the plane thinking Georgia is investigating the plane crash. Sidney knows Will because he's been working with them in their dodgy deals.

Alex Kingston told Georgia Will was having an affair because she wanted Georgia to be so disgusted/upset with Will that she went home and stopped digging. She accompanied Georgia to Kinshasha to try and thwart her efforts/warn Bello and Will.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2019 23:13

Well we knew Will was alive

But is he kidnapped ?

Or living happily in White House with red pillars

Why didn’t he don’t he contact Georgia

He sounded happy to hear from her

OP posts:
Shenanagins · 23/04/2019 23:20

So maybe the plane was brought down to kill Will as the general wanted to be the big boss and get back the mines.

PrincessScarlett · 23/04/2019 23:26

It's all to do with smuggling via the aid trucks I think which is why Will, Judith and the French aid worker (at the very least) are all involved.

Georgia asked why they kept Will alive for 3 years, thinking he's been held hostage but I think the fact he's still alive shows he's a bad guy as everyone else has been brutally killed without a second thought so they are not looking to keep hostages.

When we saw him in the crate in the second episode we were led to believe he was a hostage but he could have been smuggling himself/hiding.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 24/04/2019 00:38

Good theories....but if he IS the big cheese, (which I'm starting to think as well), then why did he leave for DRC in the first place, without swishy ponytail, and why did he sound so pleased to hear from her in tonights episode? Presumably BC (big cheese) would be able to see SP (swishy ponytail ) as much as he liked, because he's the boss??? Jeez...I'm confusing myself Grin

Honeyroar · 24/04/2019 07:43

I just thought he sounded shocked to hear from her.

PrincessScarlett · 24/04/2019 07:50

I think the reason Will left was because Georgia was depressed/grieving and their marriage broke down. In an earlier episode in a flashback she snapped at him for telling her to get on with their lives.

juneau · 24/04/2019 10:18

When Will was in that cage being smuggled into Rwanda I thought he was smuggling himself, not being smuggled. Also, if he was a hostage, why would he have a phone that he was able to pick up easily? It makes a lot more sense that he wanted to disappear than that someone else wanted him to disappear. If the latter, why would he still be alive all these years later? He didn't sound happy to hear from Georgia - he sounded dumbfounded.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/04/2019 13:44

recap 6

Good recap tho nothing about phone call and will being alive at the end

Bloody ell

2rebecca · 24/04/2019 22:27

I don't get why Alex K was killed if the general didn't order it. Did his henchman just do it for kicks? It's all going a bit Game of Thrones with a different main character being knocked off each week

Invisibleiink · 25/04/2019 06:58

2rebecca, Pieter Bello ordered the henchman to kill Judith (that was the phone call). I wonder if maybe Judith had heard about the massacre at the mine and was threatening Bello that she'd pull out of the arrangement/go to the police?

Strange reaction to being conned by Sally, for Judith to decide 'oh well in that case I'll get involved in coltan smuggling'! I hope she reported her to the care home!
I'm not sure Ariel is dead. Can't believe he was a fraudster - he seemed so nice!

2rebecca · 25/04/2019 08:20

The Sally story got silly with the renting a desk bit. I presume the rented desk was in another company's office for Alex to think she worked there. If she really worked for a company that could afford that flash a building she would have no problem getting a bank loan.

Invisibleiink · 25/04/2019 08:27

Alex was alarmingly gullible at that point - or she hadn't watched enough tv to spot Sally's game!
You would hope an aid manager would be a bit more steely and sceptical. Still, I suppose she was at a vulnerable time in her life. MN would have told her to wait a while before making any significant decisions - certainly don't rush in to giving £200k away to someone you've just met!

Does anyone think Josh may have a bigger role in the next couple of episodes - so far he's been a bit of background figure. (Is he the actor from Broadchurch, or am I getting mixed up?)

FamilyOfAliens · 25/04/2019 08:31

Yes I think Josh was the dad who murdered the boy on Broadchurch (Olivia Coleman’s husband).

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 25/04/2019 08:33

Josh was Alex Kingstons work mate? Yes, I wondered that. He could be behind all of it GrinGrin

greentreeseverywhere · 26/04/2019 15:07

I don't understand how blind man (sorry can't remember his name) telling beatrix about the crash lead to old English man turning up.....

PrincessScarlett · 26/04/2019 16:08

We never saw Judith die, just Josh telling Georgia and Martin she had died. Always thought Josh looked a bit shifty.

SimonJT · 26/04/2019 16:15

I’m still confused how Charles Dance tracked down Ariel (?), I’m also not convinced Judith is dead, I don’t know if it was just poor research, but she wasn’t intubated during her surgery.

purpleme12 · 26/04/2019 16:30

I wasn't convinced she was dead either to be honest cos we did never see her
