The actor who played BR is actually fairly good-looking without the teeth!

RuffleCrow · 05/04/2019 18:00

I had a feeling he might be!

HoraceCope · 05/04/2019 18:34

i absolutely do not want to know what happens in the final episode, head of the final episode.

I can see myself crying at the final episode, no matter what happens. I've loved it so very much and will miss it lots if it really is the last ever series. The writing and performances are just perfect. I love all the characters, even the awful ones, because they're so brilliantly performed and written

VeronicaDinner · 05/04/2019 18:55

I reckon the painting of the girls is going to be the catalyst of an argument. It hasn't been revealed yet.

AND when the priest said he wasn't going to do the wedding, she storms upstairs saying I must paint. So was it that she was working on in a foul temper?

humblesims · 05/04/2019 19:17

I think its possible that the guy she is having sex with in the final scene might not be HP? If it is HP it might turn out that the bubble bursts and the shine wears off? He might not be 'very very good at it'. I dont think they'll end up together but I dont think it'll be the be all and end all. I think it will just be a catalyst for FB to move forward with her grief and mend her relationship with family. The wedding of course....will be a spectacular disaster. Just my thoughts.

RuffleCrow · 05/04/2019 19:18

I bet it will be a painting of fb doing something unspeakable to the priest Grin. A sort of "this is how awful your daughter is" painting but done with a smile and a "aren't i such a sexually liberated artist, darling?!"

howmanyleftfeet · 05/04/2019 19:22

Ah, it's definitely HP!

There's only one episode left, the whole series has been building up to them having sex. The next episode includes the aftermath, and we still have so many lose ends to tie up - we ssimply don't have time for a twist where FB and HP were all over each other and about to DTD - only for somehow, that not to happen and for FB to end up having genuinely passionate sex with someone else.

She doesn't want to have passionate sex with anyone else! She was doing it with the lawyer to keep her mind off HP!

ShowOfHands · 05/04/2019 19:34

I hope, I mean I really hope that the long pause between "we're going to have sex aren't we?" from HP and the "okay" and "yeah" are him accepting that he is falling in love and actively choosing it as opposed to a giving in to temptation. That whole scene in her living room seems to be a conclusion, a choice. I think the pauses between kisses are the same thing. The choice to push the camera away too. It's so considered. I'm hoping they've chosen each other as opposed to ploughing down a path.

Does that make sense?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/04/2019 19:47

"Ploughing"

Snort.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 05/04/2019 20:04

Following along, I'm in love with this show!

RuffleCrow · 05/04/2019 20:12

He can plough my furrow any day Grin. So can she, for that matter!

I know what you mean, showofhands it did seem very deliberate. If they'd just had sex in the confession box there would be more excuse for him to regret and say it was a reckless mistake.

Connieston · 05/04/2019 20:32

Just had crazy thought. What if that sex scene was way into the future and then we pan out to a baby in a cot and then the wedding officiated by someone else. Grin

merrymouse · 05/04/2019 20:48

I agree show of hands. They really wasted that scene if it all means nothing, and I don't think that is how the show works.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/04/2019 20:49

I think you're as big a romantic as me @Connieston

VeronicaDinner · 05/04/2019 20:50

I wouldn't say no to PWB either!

Perhaps she's going to finally expunge herself of us, the observers in the final episode. We might get a big speech to camera!

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 05/04/2019 20:55

Ah show and hollywood,I am also a romantic and I think FB is a romantic nostalgic person too......

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/04/2019 20:56

I spoke to PWB on the phone briefly once about a year ago. She was ordering some flowers and I blurted out at the end of the exchange "I just want to know that I absolutely LOVE Fleabag!"
She was so charming and just laughed in an "Oh, how nice" way and said thank you. I don't normally fangirl but I make an exception for PWB!

dontloseyourhead · 05/04/2019 21:11

I’m relieved though that there aren’t going to be N series - I love PWB and these 8 series arc Netflix and amazon things are so mass produced and eeked out its refreshing for something to be complete in 2 series these days.

Of course, it’s probably due to diary constraints but I hope it’s artistic choice

VeronicaDinner · 05/04/2019 21:12

I agree about shows dragging on and on. It's too common these days.

ShowOfHands · 05/04/2019 21:15

I'm not a romantic at all and find most romance cliched or trite or poorly handled. However, FB is about redemption in a lot of ways and HP is a positive influence. They deserve each other.

StarJumpsandaHalf · 05/04/2019 21:20

Slight change of topic. Haven't seen it mentioned, must have missed it if it was, but the actor who plays stepson Jake is Angus Imrie. Son of actors Celia Imrie and the late Benjamin Whitrow.

Tinkoschminko · 05/04/2019 21:25

She won’t end it with a typical family/ baby set-up. Fleabag has never really expressed an interest in that: I just hope she’s happy.

PresidentHump · 05/04/2019 21:25

Theory - we are God.

PresidentHump · 05/04/2019 21:26

Another theory - FB is God
