I was avoiding this until I saw the result.
So glad Irini won but I hope Jilly opens a restaurant too.

Grouchy, lolly cake looks a lot like fifteens. Have you seen the protestant tray bake threads?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 31/03/2019 09:48

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/fifteens

You can definitely get all the ingredients in the UK.

Thanks ellen 😘

I dunno - so I’d DH speaks 2 languages (as well as mother tongue) so I guess that’s three but I wouldn’t count the ‘home language’ as just about everyone talks something!

whatashower · 31/03/2019 11:32

Morning all.

Yes halsall the thread titles were awesome. Truly hard act to follow, am sure you will be rested and your pencil sharpened by Celeb MC (pretty please)🤣

I am in awe of anyone who has a command of languages, absolutely my achilles heel. Unless Scottish vernacular counts.🤔

So....as promised .... I made pork and prawn dim sum and a porcini broth yesterday, had a lovely afternoon making wonton wrappers and dh was suitably enthused. It was a rare outing for the pasta machine. The super-thin wontons tore a bit of course so presentation not to MC standard 😫 will try steamed buns next time if I can be faffed

If anyone is brave enough to try the chocolate cup dessert ❤️❤️❤️❤️ You MUST share here, its the law

Adieu until CMC!

Halsall · 31/03/2019 12:05

Aww, thanks what

Those dim sums sound amazing. Puts my Sunday breakfast bacon sandwich to shame.

Yes, does any Mastercheffian dare take the chocolate cup challenge? We have until the next series to perfect it Grin

Recipe here for anyone who does....

SuperLoud Yes, one of my friends brought Fifteens to a thing at my house one time. They're yummy and very similar. I had a look at the Protestant Tray Bake thread; very funny, and very familiar for a Kiwi too!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/04/2019 21:40

Been away doing some rare socialising so no MN 😔 however I did manage to catch the final. Irini was a worthy winner but honestly I could have rooted for any one of them. Delia is so talented and Jilly, just adored her.

I've loved the threads -Halsall, take a bow for your superb titles, every one a gem!

It's been a blast, and I'm only sorry that rl intervened and hauled me away for family duties at inopportune times.

I will never look at walnuts the same way again...

Lulumush · 02/04/2019 21:29

Seeing as you're all foodies ---anyone hosting Easter and if so, whaddya cooking?

MerryInthechelseahotel · 03/04/2019 08:15

I follow Jilly on Instagram (jillymccordcooks) and it seems the three finalists are going to be traveling round France and cooking together hoping to get someone interested in filming it.

Iwantacampervan · 03/04/2019 20:13

One of the chefs on GBM is going to do something with walnuts as part of his starter - perhaps they are the 'in thing'?

Wolfcub · 03/04/2019 20:45

I’d watch that programme Merry

Pencilmuseum · 04/04/2019 10:24

Merry - 3 finalists in France - surely that cooking & eating travelogue concept has been done to death now? e.g. Nadia Bakeoff in Bangladesh and Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon eating round Italy etc. Might be a bit too expensive for BBC as well.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 04/04/2019 14:09

True pencil I know I would watch it if it was on though.
