Is anyone else finding Corrie dull and odd?

It has always been my favourite soap but it doesn’t even feel like Corrie anymore.

Corrie is very dull and has been for a while.
I didn't like it when phelan was in it, don't like it now he's gone and think its getting worse.

It's gone from slice of life drama about northern working class people to a ridiculous nonsensical and over the top American Soap opera with murders, blackmails, love triangles, teen pregnancies, sex slavery etc etc

And I also don't like how it handles storylines. Like this new cab story, no competition a week ago, dally.emntions a new cab firm, 3 episodes later and Steve's checking bank accounts and people are leaving and he's worrying about fares etc.
It's either from zero to full throttle or full throttle to forgotten about.

It’s very dull. I don’t know how because I actually like Carla but I’m totally bored with her storyline. They aren’t holding my attention with it at all. It’s like it’s a background story rather than what it would be in reality. A massive worrying ordeal. But they’re just not managing to get that across.

Amazing how Carla has been having a breakdown and living a chaotic life but still has great eyebrows and applies her mascara.

I have stopped watching Corrie and found better ston other channels, much prefer Classic Corrie in the afternoons. There isn’t one character I give a shit about now.

Didn’t mind the last few episodes. Nice to have a break from Gemma and Ches and the young love with Seb and Alina is sweet. Thought the talent show was fun and am mildly intrigued by Rob’s mystery date. Carla was quite scary! Asha needs to work on her contouring

Such a shame. I miss proper Corrie.

It’s easy to see why so many are leaving and it wouldn’t surprise me if Carla is next. She’s such a great actress and this storyline is just ridiculous.

It'd be nice for them to just show young people meeting, dating, usual stuff, but it's Corrie.

The thing with actors leaving Corrie is that (with a few exceptions) they're too shite to get another acting job, and have to come back.

corrie as hit an all time low at the moment it's like the writers can't be bothered and just throw any shit together.

i can't even remember. although neither can the writers by the looks of things

Johnny has MS which rarely troubles him, TracyLuv and Carla both have kidney transplants, Tracey's kidney from poor Samir is now ancient (is it a world record?) and she rarely mentions the tablets that she needs ot take everyday to avoid rejection, Carla is still trucking on without her tablets. Everyone quaffs away with no pill interactions or side effects.

Many residents have had severe back injuries: Siobhan, Peter, Billy, Sawfie for example but their backs never trouble them again. Max has ADHD but was cured of being a bit cheeky in a few episodes with a few pills (who knew?) . David's epilepsy seems to never bother him at all (but is sporadically mentioned). Cancer is always cured (until the actor wants to leave).

I know it's a soap but the producers and actors always make a big deal of how they have consulted charities and want to be realistic and then... they aren't at all. The writers atm seem to just drop stories before they are resolved, it just all feels so random and weird.

I recorded last night's as I was out. The blurb for it said Yasmeen let's Geoff down again. Seriously. Geoff never asked Yasmeen to do the talent show, then he was rude to her, then didn't answer his phone. Is Geoff 12 ? The sooner Yasmeen dumps the abusive bastard the better.

Geoff has turned into a right arsehole. Could Robert be meeting with a surrogate? It seems unlikely that Corrie would do that storyline again but you never know.

I am failing to care about Carla and her breakdown, which is a shame because it is important to bring to light mental health, but I have no sympathy for the character after putting workers at risk in an unsafe working environment.

Geoff is just horrible and I hope Yasmeen gets rid of him, only highlight was Tim last night as he was quite funny.

There is nothing subtle in the writing. No hint of Geoff being controlling, then it's rammed down your throat within the space of a week.

Come on writers....slow burn....create some ongoing interest.

I thought the Carla scenes were excellent - she was frightening. Her and Roy together are good.

Yes, Geoff was always so nice, and he and Yasmeen were one of the few happy couples! Hate the way the story lines change the characters so quickly, and usually for an unpleasant story line.

I sense a trafficking story coming on with Seb’s love interest. Then I’ll definitely be switching off.
