Anybody else planning to watch tonight? Part 1 of 2, 9pm, Channel 4.

I'm very intrigued to watch. I remember the Martin Bashir documentary being aired years ago, and the various backlashes/criticisms that happened afterwards.

How many more are living with the secret? Sad

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 22:45

Yes, I was wondering what the men's relationships with their parents was like now. They must have such conflicted emotions.

DaisyDreaming · 06/03/2019 22:45

What’s the time line between the 2 boys?

HemanOrSheRa · 06/03/2019 22:45

Michael Jackson grew up in the public eye so it's possible that he just didn't feel like a complete stranger to the parents.

StephsCaddy · 06/03/2019 22:47

Had to turn over. Utterly sickening - those poor boys.

TwistinMyMelon · 06/03/2019 22:48

He basically had this little harem of children and he parades them in plain sight.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 06/03/2019 22:48

No - I believe both men.

As a survivor I believe them, the script was the same for me, all of it.

PickledLimes · 06/03/2019 22:50

I had to go let the dog out at one point. Did they mention the faxes that Michael sent Wade? That might be in the next part though.

CoffeeRunner · 06/03/2019 22:50

Oh dear god. I’m watching too, but slightly behind.

I believe them. I’ve heard lots of people stating the fact that one of these men testified in MJ’s trial, stating that nothing inappropriate had happened. I’m bewildered that some people still don’t understand the many possible reasons for him doing that at the time.

Even as a child, way before any accusations were ever publicised, I thought there was something very creepy & unpleasant about MJ. The whole child-like character was deeply unnerving.

MazDazzle · 06/03/2019 22:51

For HowIsMovingBungalow FlowersSad

DarkDarkNight · 06/03/2019 22:52

I believe them.

The stories are so similar, the things he liked and what he asked them to do.

I’ve read a lot in the last week or so because of this documentary and there is just such a definite pattern on behaviour. The phasing out of one boy when he got too old, the gradual marginalisation.

Redshoeblueshoe · 06/03/2019 22:52

Pickled they haven't mentioned any faxes

HemanOrSheRa · 06/03/2019 22:53

That was a difficult watch. Those poor children.

happyhillock · 06/03/2019 22:53

I'm sorry i can understand children being groomed but parents no, the parent's seen MJ the pop star, as a parent myself my first job is to protect my children, if any grown man was showing any kind of interest in them i would ask what the hell he was playing at

PickledLimes · 06/03/2019 22:53

Of course the sexual abuse was beyond terrible but also how disgusting to make children feel that they're special, that you love them and that they're important to you only to dump them and replace them with another child. That alone could cause major damage to a child.

MadeForThis · 06/03/2019 22:53

I believe them.

PickledLimes · 06/03/2019 22:54

Thank you RedshoeBlueShoe. Perhaps that'll be in the next part.

Februaryblooms · 06/03/2019 22:54

I've just finished watching it and feel immensely sad. They clearly loved him so much and had no clue they were being groomed for abuse Sad

To hear them describe the heartache they felt when they were replaced by other boys, just heartbreaking.

That man is one sick fucking cunt.

PickledLimes · 06/03/2019 22:55

I believe them too.

ccmrob12 · 06/03/2019 22:58

It's very odd Strawberry pancakes. Wade said recently after the first case was brought in 1993, Michael rang him up and was telling him how to explain things etc, bit odd considering he was being investigated by the FBI at the time and his phone would have been tapped.

The both testified under oath Michael never acted in a sexual way towards them. Both as adults as well in 2005, so they would known right from wrong. So they either lied then, or are lying now. Either way, doesn't make them very credible, however well they recount things now for the documentary.

Februaryblooms · 06/03/2019 23:00

I would be astonished if Macaulay Culkin wasn't abused, but doesn't want to admit it and I would totally understand why.

He fits straight into the pattern of grooming, quickly becoming the focus of MJ's attentions and developing an abnormally close relationship.

It seems implausible for him not to have been abused in that setting if these two men are telling the truth, surely?

I absolutely believe them.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 06/03/2019 23:02

Thank you @MazzDazzle.

I was groomed from the age of 3. My mother was picked out by him, vunerable single mother who ended up idolising him... imagine if he was MJ? ... not much difference other than fame and a house and cash - your child still ends up abused and it ruins them forever, regardless of counselling.

All what MJ's victims said, the way they said it and that disgusting piece of shits behaviour is fucking typical of a paedophiles abuse and the utter devastation left behind.

PickledLimes · 06/03/2019 23:03

It's possible that Macauley was abused, very possible. It's also possible that he wasn't abused as paedophiles don't necessarily prey on every child that they have access to, and with Macauley Culkin being a very famous child star he was a higher risk due to his status.
