It's back on More4 end of March/ beginning of April. And we're in for a treat, Michael Sheen is playing what appears to be a bit of a reckless lawyer. I've been in love with Michael Sheen since he played Lucian in Underworld (phwooaarrr). Admittedly he's been in some dodgy films since then but all is forgiven as far as I'm concerned.

More plot information and a trailer is here:

Better this week. Much better. An actual courtroom scene and no song.

Kurt being all protective.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 17/05/2019 17:18

I loved Kurt being protective. Totally agree, much better this week.

GreyBasket · 18/05/2019 07:16

Enjoyed it ☺️ And DH watched it with me - his first in the series. I had to explain it all 😆

Italiangreyhound · 18/05/2019 13:51

I liked the whole drilling a hole in the wall and putting in a security camera. Reminds me of Zack (??), Alyssa's son(spelling?) disabling the security tag thing on the door with his skateboard when Peter broke the conditions of his bail (by leaving the appartment when wearing the tag) in The Good Wife.

The Good Wife always had lots of detail, like the missing document, the adendam, the pitted evidence etc - maybe my favourite the bag being blown across the footage of the security camera, to show the recordings were duplicates.

The little things that made a big difference.

The last episode touched on those things for me.

Of course you can make a big statement with a chair thrown thorough a window but better to make a big statement with a stray bag blown across a CCTV camera!

I'm so boring. I always give the same examples but those are things I remember!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 18/05/2019 17:15

Who drilled a hole in the wall? I must have slept through that bit!!

"Who drilled a hole in the wall? I must have slept through that bit!!"

Kurt drilled a hole in the wall at 22 minutes (and 11 seconds) in. YES, I am a geek! It was a hole to put a wire through so he cut fit a little camera. And 13 seconds later he seemed to polish the little camera with a cloth! It's that kind of detail I love!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 18/05/2019 22:21

Goodness, I totally missed that! Must have been on my phone at the time Blush

Italiangreyhound · 18/05/2019 22:35

That's how he knew the person who was listening in, and it's how he worked out to save Diane.

The episode is called "Episode 8 - The One Where Kurt Saves Diane", which reminds me of Friends where I think all episodes were called "The One Where ..."

ConfCall · 18/05/2019 22:41

Just caught up. Great episode! Back to how it should be.

Waterandlemonjuice · 20/05/2019 11:09

I ❤️ Kurt!

Italiangreyhound · 24/05/2019 19:59

Oh this is a warning not to get involved with shady types!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 24/05/2019 22:10

Very true @Italiangreyhound - will be an intriguing turn of events if they go down that road.

I actually quite enjoyed this episode & surprisingly enjoyed Maia and Blum working together!

Italiangreyhound · 25/05/2019 09:37

And Maia betraying Marissa! Very sad.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 25/05/2019 16:22

It was @Italiangreyhound but I understood why to a certain extent as she is in a desperate situation that wasn't of her own making.

Italiangreyhound · 26/05/2019 14:48

She has sided with her oppressor against bee friends! Vas move Maia.

Italiangreyhound · 26/05/2019 14:49

against her friends. Bad move Maia.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 15:08

I missed the start of the series and More 4 have ditched the early episodes.Angry

Anyone know if it's available anywhere else?

southeastdweller · 26/05/2019 19:40

You can download the early episodes on iTunes.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 20:03

Thanks @southeastdweller 👍

youngestisapsycho · 31/05/2019 08:25

Ooh... were they coming for Diane at the end?! Waiting for series 4 now!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/05/2019 08:53

Are we losing Maia then?

I've really enjoyed Marissa this series - and what a voice! I loved her singing at Blum. I'd like to see Eli Gold make an appearance too.

SoonerthanIthought · 31/05/2019 13:03

The implication was that Maia and Blum were driving off to DC to set up in business there wasn't it? - not sure what that leaves ?can't remember name, who was recruited as head of legal. But maybe she is tangential to the plot!

Will we ever find out what hold Blum has over Adrian's judge 'friend'? Why did she agree to bribe the judge - seemed that there was a secret involving her ex husband?

I think the Book Club (or at least the woman on this week's episode) had called the SWAT team on Diane - and we're left waiting to see if Kurt will go and investigate (as you'd expect with Kurt), and be shot. Very sombre way to end the series.

stumbledin · 01/06/2019 00:22

I thought this series was very, very disappointing. It has become so cutesy and smug about it's liberal politics.

Originally I thought it really interesting and better than the Good Wife (which went downhill once Kalinda got pushed out Angry ) even though the clothes, let alone the face lifts were all a bit extreme.

Now everything is a joke, racism, monitoring phone calls, and those ridiculous explanatory interludes. It looks like they think they cant have a serious programme with a female lead and / or they want to appeal to a younger audience.

But the worse thing was Michael Sheen. What an embarrassment. It looked like he thought he was in a music hall farce.

I cant be bothered to check and see if there are new writers this series but it seemed really superficial and more intent on saying look how clever we are dragging in current issues.

youngestisapsycho · 01/06/2019 09:06

Micheal Sheen was on Graham Norton last night with full on Blum hair and beard....

Andromeida59 · 02/06/2019 07:36

Absolutely love TGF. It's been one of my favourites for a while and still does not disappoint. I think the use of the shorts has been particularly clever, especially given the dumbing down of politics with Trump.
This series has been fantastic, crazy at points but I feel it's just a microcosm of what is happening at the moment. It does often feel like an antidote to the constant stream of nonsense in the news and media in general.
Blume is an excellent character. Over the top, desperate and post-truth. I think it does make you question many things.

I found the last scene quite shocking!
Can't wait for season four!
