It's back on More4 end of March/ beginning of April. And we're in for a treat, Michael Sheen is playing what appears to be a bit of a reckless lawyer. I've been in love with Michael Sheen since he played Lucian in Underworld (phwooaarrr). Admittedly he's been in some dodgy films since then but all is forgiven as far as I'm concerned.

More plot information and a trailer is here:

That axe throwing place makes me nervous.... looks like a lot of accidents waiting to happen!

Freshlysteamedvajayjay · 03/05/2019 10:34

I think the axe throwing is maybe in comparison to Kurt being pro-gun? How is it ok for her to throw axes but guns are not ok?

Freshlysteamedvajayjay · 03/05/2019 10:35

Invisible I think she seen a flyer for it and went along out of interest.

TheweewitchRoz · 03/05/2019 13:04

@Invisibleiink if I remember correctly, the instructor at the karate place said something anti-Semitic to Diane so she couldn't go back there but needed somewhere to vent her aggression hence the axe-throwing.

Annasgirl · 03/05/2019 18:30

Well I've given up on it. I now have 2 episodes not watched and I have avoided them all week. I watched TGW from day 1 all the way through and I liked (but didn't love) the first 2 seasons of this (although I can't stand Maia's voice). But it has jumped the shark. Between Michael Sheen, the cartoons, the mad women's group and the complete absence of any legal drama, not to mention Luca no longer having a boyfriend. It's beginning to make Madam Secretary seem compelling!!!

GarthFunkel · 03/05/2019 19:17

I don't think I paid much attention to that at all. I do kind of like Blum - the scene with Marisa singing to him was great but all went south when he was in the loo. But - no court. None. All that utter bollocks over Melania. The Book Club - pointless. Bring back the NSA guys! And where is Maia, Lucca's boyfriend and child The axe stuff seems solely down to CB having X% screentime in her contract and it's cheaper to have her throw axes solo than pay extras in a court room scene. And those songs... nope.

Bookfour · 04/05/2019 04:34

I am sticking with it

waterandlemonjuice · 04/05/2019 12:24

BTW was anyone going ‘now where do I know her from?’ About Melania’s lawyer? I was and realised today that she was a heart surgeon in Greys Anatomy, who disappeared very suddenly apparently IRL the actress annoyed Shonda Rhimes so was fired.who knows?

waterandlemonjuice
Well-spotted - I knew I recognised her from something.

Travelledtheworld · 07/05/2019 23:29

Still think this is one of the best US shows ever and I love the little cartoon interludes, very refreshing.

BeautifulMaudOHara · 08/05/2019 11:31

Just watched the latest and it's still annoying, not enough court, too much political group stuff. I do like Kurt though and can see why Diane married him, despite their being so different. He is sometimes a bit swoony.

TheFirstOHN · 08/05/2019 16:11

Still think this is one of the best US shows ever
It's usually good, but this week's episode seemed disjointed and a bit silly.

Invisibleiink · 10/05/2019 07:46

Anyone seen last night's? I'll leave a few lines blank, so those who haven't yet caught up can avoid spoilers

So Luca has actually split up with the father (can't remember his name, and I know they weren't actually 'together' but I thought they did have some kind of arrangement)? Looks as though, as she is now moving on! Where is Maia and what's happening to her? Why were Diane and Adrian so hesitant about asking the judge to recuse herself?

MoodLighting · 10/05/2019 22:55

Just watched it Invisibleink. I was well disappointed by Diane in the ending. None of it makes sense anymore. Didn't Luca get engaged to the congressman guy? Still the Downton Abby guy is swoon-worthy. He really looks good in a suit...

Italiangreyhound · 11/05/2019 02:10

Downton Abbey guy super cute. i know he was an actor, I never watched Downton.

trendingorange · 11/05/2019 09:59

I'm sticking with it and enjoying it a lot, I much prefer it to the first season don't like Maia.
I actually don't mind Sheens character, but only for one season please!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 11/05/2019 17:14

Was that guy really in Downtown Abbey as I watched it but don't remember him at all?

I think the programme now is firmly aimed at 'educating' US viewers in advance of the next election, but the problem is that this kind of show will be preaching to the converted as no Trump supporter would ever even watch it.

Can't say I'm really enjoying it but I will keep watching regardless & hope it gets back to its roots a bit more. Still hate Michael Sheen's character & glad that Maia doesn't seem to be in it anymore!

Doobigetta · 12/05/2019 21:13

This has totally jumped the shark for me. Diane and Liz discussing their firm and clients with the hacktivist? Maia trashing her office and not getting fired? Lucca fighting over a box of burner phones? The entire character Michael Sheen plays? Just silly and unbelievable. And the anti-Trump stuff- I can’t stand him but it’s laid on so thick. They might as well stop bothering to have a storyline and just run a PowerPoint presentation “All the ways we’re right on”. And I HATE the stupid cartoon songs. If the show was in any way believable or allowed you to care about any of the characters, the songs would ruin it. It’s such a shame because I loved The Good Wife, but this is just a pale imitation.

Loopytiles · 12/05/2019 21:59

Makes no sense.

Tealfrog · 12/05/2019 22:11

It had well and truely lost its way - i always watch behind time now so i can forward wind the boring bits/repetitive trump rants/ cartoons- unfortunately more and more these are becoming the whole show- soon there will be little left to watch. I'm only watching now put of a remembrance to past shows.

Italiangreyhound · 12/05/2019 22:23

We need some real court cases
Weird ass judges
People we care about
Last minute addendums
Missing files
And
We need Elsberth Tacioni and Louis Canning.

Waterandlemonjuice · 13/05/2019 14:20

Oh I agree, we need those two! And more court, less Trump...

ConfCall · 15/05/2019 23:13

It needs to get away from Trump and back to the court room. It’s starting to get absurd.

And Michael Sheen is better than this.

Waterandlemonjuice · 15/05/2019 23:14

I’m on the penultimate episode, it’s still annoying.

GarthFunkel · 17/05/2019 13:51

No song this week though!
