Berrie · 05/07/2007 21:08

Right...you alcohol sirens...begone! I shall have a clear head on the morrow. I'm off to bed before I relent. My liver will thank me.Byee! xx

LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:09

Bed? At this time?
My evening's just getting started.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 21:10

Just off for a top up...hic!

LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:12

Berrie (if you're still up), what's that elderwhatsit wine like? I'd like to try my hand at wine making (would save me a small fortune ).
I did try it once, many moons ago, but it was not a success.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 21:17

I tried winemaking once. The only one that was actually drinkable was parsnip. So there you go. I'm sticking to sloe gin in the future.
The second glass of this vile muck is still no better....

LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:17

Get thee down to your local Co-op. the cava's on special offer.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 21:24

I know! I was in co-op and I saw it! But I thought, no, I've had a glass of champagne, I couldn't possibly now drink cava daaaaaarling. Like I said, bad decision.
Too late now, I'd get breathalised and arrested and DH would be taken into care, so I'll have to stick with what I've got.

LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:33

DH will be taken into care? Bit harsh.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 21:39

Well, you know what they're like these days. 'You're mother's a middle class alcoholic who likes the odd fag, and would pay for your education if she could afford it. We'd best take you away for your own good little boy'!!!!!'

Oh, and she lusts after younger men that she sees on telly, despite their dodgy slippers!!!!

LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:42

You must be a bit pissed, you said DH would be taken away
Think you meant DS.

OP posts:
LyraB · 05/07/2007 21:44

Do you have the odd fag? I've just given up. I used to stand in the garden in all weathers. Had to give up because I didn't want to set a bad example to the boys and they could see me puffing away through the dining room window.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 21:49

I know. Bad habit. I'll stop.....just let life get a little less stressful first! And I only ever have one after DS has gone to bed.

And errm, yes, I meant DS not DH. There's plenty of other reasons DH would get taken away Only joking!

LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:12

I use to smoke after I'd got DS2 down for his nap in the afternoon and after I'd got both dses to bed a night, like it was a reward. It's psychologically a hard habit to break.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 22:19

I know. I stopped the second I knew I was pregnant and it was easy. I only started again about 12 months ago when life was really really stressful.

LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:25

I stopped during both pregnancies but started again after each birth, just because i could, after 9 months of enforced abstinence. Stupid huh?

OP posts:
LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:27

Do you think you'll have any more babies? Your DS's name is the same as my DS1's btw.

Sorry if this has already been covered - thread too long to read through.
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near the Adelphi?

LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:37

DP says the Strand Palace is reasonably priced. A bit more expensive would be the Savoy or Horseguards Hotel. Across the river is the City Inn, which is quite cheap.

Errm, the way things are at the moment, no. DH works away during the week, as you may have worked out, I'm working full time and we also have a small farm and a house needing a huge amount doing to it. Under these circs there's no way I'd consider having a second. Although I would like DS to have a brother or sister I'm not sure I could go through with it as things are - also, pregnancy was hideous and I was also pretty post-natal, so I'm not sure I want to go through that again either. And I ain't getting any younger!!! Gee, welcome to Boing's life! Still, I'm pretty happy again now, and I love my job, DS is happy and the house is expecting builders any day, so it's all looking up.

And don't we have great taste - what cool names are they!!!

cornsilk · 05/07/2007 22:41

Thanks LyraB

LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:49

BB, sounds like you've got a lot on your plate.
I only work one day a week atm but we're about to embark on building work so the stress levels will be rising.

OP posts:
LyraB · 05/07/2007 22:49

No probs, Cornsilk.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 05/07/2007 22:59

Yes, life's a bit busy Lyra, but hey, I don't get bored!
Cornsilk, the only addition I'd make to hotels is the Travelodge in Covent Garden - it's actually not, it's Holborn, but close enough. There may be a Premier Travel Inn around there too.

oggsfrog · 06/07/2007 06:50

Anyone need any paracetamol this morning?

Regarding the Paint it Black pose versus multi-coloured one......it makes no difference whatsoever when you're already a shameless hussy No shame you see, and you could always close your eyes

(a suitably low tone to start the day??)

Berrie · 06/07/2007 07:32
