Hellllloooooo! Anyone there?

OP posts:
expeLYRAmus · 11/07/2007 14:58

i booked with Keith Prowse. No champagne and canapes for me .
I'm typing this while sitting at the wheel of my car. DS2 is fast asleep in the back and I didn't want to wake him or leave him. Thank God for laptops and wireless broadband

binkleandflip · 11/07/2007 15:00

I wonder if you can do it whoever you booked with - direct through really useful? I can post the booking number if anyone's interested

OggswartsExpress · 11/07/2007 19:43

Ooh, ooh, ooh, my tickets were posted yesterday .

Been listening to JD's Joseph again today, and even dd is now saying "he doesn't have a good enough voice" and "Lee is much better" (indoctrination successful)

Ooh, also picked up my new contact lenses today, so will be able to use binoculars with ease.

Ooh, also posted Lee's lovingly hand-made birthday card from dd today.

Thanks for the link to the Telegraph.

Was pissed off this morning as I tuned into Midweek R4 too late and missed Lee. But have checked in paper and it should be repeated tonight at 9.30, so have got my tape ready.

Am bit of a saddo really n'est pas?

Berrie · 11/07/2007 19:55

ooo good name oggs.
You can listen to the programme online any time...though maybe not you come to think of it

OggswartsExpress · 11/07/2007 20:04

Thanks. I love Lyra's HP name. So clever.

Did you hear the interview?

expeLYRAmus · 11/07/2007 21:11

That Torygraph interview was a bit disappointing. it was more like a CV with a couple of quotes from Lee stuck on the top.

expeLYRAmus · 12/07/2007 09:36

Morning ladies.
there's a story in today's Mirror about Craig Chalmers winning the lead role in the touring production of Joseph. Now, I don't understad this at all, he was clearly rubbish. what about lewis? what about Ben? both much better. I thought we'd seen the last of Craig, but sadly not.

OggswartsExpress · 12/07/2007 09:56

I agree Lyra, it was just re-hashing what we already knew. Why wait until now to print it when the actual interview was weeks ago? and why no original photo?

Don't know why there is griping about Lee in particular, as Daniel, Johndeep etc were all in the "business" too...

Spent last night watching Torchwood and ogling Capt Jack (I've only ever seen the 1st 2 episodes so I bought dvd Series 1 eps 1-5 off Ebay (they're not cheap are they?))

OggswartsExpress · 12/07/2007 10:21

I can't put my finger on why I don't like Craig, but there is just something cringeworthy about him.

Ben didn't have a brilliant voice but had real stage presence - very watchable.
I didn't like Lewis at the beginning, but he really impressed me as the series progressed.

expeLYRAmus · 12/07/2007 11:47

I might even go to see the touring production if Lewis was in it but but definitely not with Craig.
He had a weak voice and his facial expressions while singing were just so cheesy. and he couldn't dance. and he's not very attractive. i could go on and on

Berrie · 12/07/2007 14:09

Yeah but Bill Kenwright does the touring show I think and he always liked Craig didn't he. Craig always had trouble with a genuine smile I thought. He was a bit wet. Ben was just not right for it, and his singing was often poor...I'd have chosen Lewis, maybe he's got something better?

OggswartsExpress · 12/07/2007 16:13

Berrie, how did it go? Did you wear the frazzle top?

Lyra....Craig not very attractive?? Surely that should be not remotely atractive?

expeLYRAmus · 12/07/2007 17:32

I was trying not to be too harsh. He's not remotely attractive to me, but he must be attractive to someone out there.

Berrie · 12/07/2007 18:17

Lyra

Berrie · 12/07/2007 18:22

Oggs nope, put the bacon frazzle top on and it looked awful

Wore a different blouse over a vest top and didn't do up over huge Mummy breasts - as suggested on here, thanks. There was a bit of a panic when someone told us the motorway had been closed while I was still in my dressing gown but we set off early and got there in time.
The interview was not as much as an 'informal interview' as proposed. They asked set questions but it was ok if not great. Anyway, the woman rung while I was out earlier and said that she needed to speak to me but that it was extremely positive. Guess that's an excuse to nip down the co-op and get some of Lyra's cava...and CAKE

BoingBoing · 12/07/2007 18:28

It sounds very promising, well done, Berrie , although I'm mystified as to why your dressing gown closed an entire motorway!!!!

Remember, when you go to the co-op DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES choose any white south african wine. It's the devil's brew I tell you. Stick to the cava and you'll be fine.

Berrie · 12/07/2007 18:31

Hurrah, I've got a job! I did very well apparantly

Berrie · 12/07/2007 18:32

Silly boingboing
The sight of me in my dressing gown is enough to close a motorway let me tell you and not in a good way
Point taken on wine...avoid the lindermans very crisp wine or something too!

expeLYRAmus · 12/07/2007 20:28

Fantastic news Berrie!!!!!
whe do you start? Is it good pay? What will you do with DC?

Berrie · 12/07/2007 21:35

Thanks Lyra
Starts September
£19 per hour think that my pay per hour was much more when full time, on the other hand much better than co-op pays
As a tutor I'll be working in the evenings or weekends when dh is home which is why it is so ideal

expeLYRAmus · 12/07/2007 21:42

Ah, fantastic. So you won't have to spend half your pay on childcare. I did it for a while, two days a week, and it just wasn't worth it. Now I work Saturdays so DP looks after the boys and i keep everything I earn.
I'm listening to Lee's interview on Midweek on Radio 4 right now and he's not doing too good. he's soooo bad at interviews. he needs to brush up his techniques and stop getting so nervous. It's almost painful to listen to.
He said he finds the whole Loppies thing "funny that people see me that way".
Are you having a chilled glass of Cava? I'm drinking Rose.

Berrie · 13/07/2007 08:29

Oh have not listened yet...wonder if I want to now

OggswartsExpress · 13/07/2007 08:35

Belated Congratulations Berrie. Well done!
£19 per hour sounds like a fortune to me. What do you teach?

I've not listened to the whole of Lee on Midweek yet Lyra. When he was on the Chart Show the other week they called him humble. I just think he's quite a quiet person in RL and only comes alive in front of an audience. Kind of endearing. Makes me want to sweep him up in a big hug

Ooh, Binkle goes tomorrow...... where is Binkle??..... and Slayer??

Berrie · 13/07/2007 08:48

I teach junior children and I'll be tutoring individuals who are not making good progress.
£19 is a good rate, I didn't mean to sound sniffy, it's just that my Mum does some supply work and comes out with £25 an hour and I'm not sure why there is a difference unless she is being paid at a rate matching her expereince and I'm being paid at the base rate. Whatever...it doesn't matter, like I said, I filled out an appliction form for the Co-op at £5.38 per hour It'll keep us in wine and cake for a couple of years!

Berrie · 13/07/2007 08:49

Can't wait to hear from Binkle on Sunday!
